Educational Qualification

For SI in Delhi Police and SI (GD) in CAPFs

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
• Candidates who have appeared in their Bachelor’s degree/equivalent examination can apply, but they must possess the required qualification on or before the closing date of online applications.

For SI (Fire) in CISF

Either:

1.      Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized university/equivalent;

OR

2.      Matriculation/equivalent + 3-year Diploma in:

o    Mechanical Engineering

o    Civil Engineering

o    Electrical Engineering

o    Automobiles Engineering

o    Chemical Engineering

o    Mining Engineering

o    Aeronautical Engineering

o    Telecommunication Engineering

o    or equivalent examination from recognized University/Board/Institution.

B.Tech/M.Tech in relevant fields can be accepted as higher qualification where the basic diploma qualification is available.

Important Educational Qualification Conditions

• Required qualification must be acquired by the closing date.
• Result of the qualifying examination must have been declared by the Board/University by the cut-off date.
• Mere processing of the result is not sufficient.
• Original marksheet/provisional degree/diploma may be required during verification.
• Equivalent qualifications require an appropriate Equivalence Certificate.
• ODL/Online qualifications are subject to the recognition conditions stated in the notice.
• Male candidates opting for Delhi Police must possess a valid LMV Driving Licence for Motorcycle and Car on the date fixed for PE&MT.
• Male candidates without the required driving licence can be considered for CAPFs only.
• Sports certificates provide no additional marks.

Age Limit

Age is calculated as on 01.08.2026.

20–25 years

Candidate must have been born:

• Not earlier than 02.08.2001
• Not later than 01.08.2006

SI (Fire), CISF

18–30 years

Candidate must have been born:

• Not earlier than 02.08.1996
• Not later than 01.08.2008.

Age Relaxation

Departmental candidates must have rendered at least 3 years of regular and continuous service as on the closing date.

The notice also contains detailed rules concerning Ex-Servicemen eligibility, service period, age relaxation and reservation. Dependents/sons/daughters of Ex-Servicemen are not entitled to ESM age relaxation/reservation.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

The examination consists of:

1.      Paper-I – Computer Based Examination

2.      Physical Standard Test (PST)

3.      Physical Endurance Test (PET)

4.      Paper-II – Computer Based Examination

5.      Detailed Medical Examination (DME) / Review Medical Examination (RME)

6.      Document Verification

7.      Final Selection & Post/Force Allocation

PST/PET and Medical Examination are qualifying/elimination stages and carry no marks. Final selection is based on Paper-II performance, including applicable NCC bonus marks, and post/force preference, subject to qualifying all required stages.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

Examination Pattern

Paper-I

Time: 1 hour, with 15-minute sectional timer for each part.

Paper-II

Paper-II has a 2-hour overall structure, with sectional timing as specified in the notice.

Negative marking:

• Paper-I: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
• Paper-II: 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

• 100 metre race: 16 seconds
• 1.6 km race: 6.5 minutes
• Long Jump: 3.65 m in 3 chances
• High Jump: 1.2 m in 3 chances
• Shot Put 16 lbs: 4.5 m in 3 chances

PET – Female

• 100 metre race: 18 seconds
• 800 metre race: 4 minutes
• Long Jump: 2.7 m in 3 chances
• High Jump: 0.9 m in 3 chances

No minimum chest measurement is prescribed for female candidates.

ESM: Ex-Servicemen are not required to undergo PET but must pass written examinations, physical standards and medical standards.

Medical Standards

Candidates qualifying Paper-II undergo medical examination.

Requirements include:

• Near vision: N6 better eye / N9 worse eye
• Distant vision: 6/6 better eye / 6/9 worse eye
• Vision must be without correction through glasses or surgery.
• Candidate must not have:
• Knock knees
• Flat foot
• Varicose veins
• Squint in eyes
• Candidate should possess high colour vision.
• Candidate must be in good mental and bodily health and free from physical defects likely to interfere with duties.

Candidates declared medically unfit in DME may undergo Review Medical Examination; the Review Medical Board's decision is final.

Pay Scale / Salary Details

All listed SI posts carry:

Pay Level-6: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400/-

Classification

• SI (GD) in CAPFs: Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial
• SI (Executive) Delhi Police: Group ‘C’ by Delhi Police
• SI (Fire) CISF: Group ‘B’, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.

How to Apply — Step by Step

Step 1: One-Time Registration

Visit the SSC website and complete One-Time Registration (OTR).

The OTR created on the old SSC website ssc.nic.in will not work on the new website.

Step 2: Keep Required Information Ready

Keep ready:

• Mobile number
• Email ID
• Aadhaar number, or permitted alternative ID
• 10th/Matriculation Board details
• Roll number
• Year of passing
• Disability certificate number, where applicable.

Step 3: Complete OTR

Enter:

• Personal details
• Password
• Additional details
• Category
• Nationality
• Identification mark
• Disability information
• Permanent and present address
• Declaration.

Registration must be completed within 14 days, otherwise saved registration details are deleted.

Step 4: Login

Login using Registration Number and Password.

Step 5: Select Examination

Go to Latest Notifications → Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination 2026 → Apply.

Step 6: Enter Educational Details

Provide highest qualification and qualifying examination details.

Step 7: Provide Additional Information

Where applicable, provide information regarding:

• OBC status
• EWS status
• Armed Forces/Ex-Servicemen status
• Special ESM quota
• Sports participation
• Age relaxation
• SI Fire qualification
• Disclosure of personal information
• NCC certificate.

Step 8: Select Examination Centres

Select three examination centres in order of preference.

Step 9: Upload/Provide Photograph & Signature

The application captures a live photograph.

Photograph requirements include:

• Good lighting
• Plain background
• Camera at eye level
• Full frontal face
• No cap
• No mask
• No spectacles.

Signature must be JPEG/JPG, generally 10–20 KB, with approximately 6 cm × 2 cm dimensions.

Step 10: Preview & Submit

Check all information carefully, accept the declaration and submit the application.

Step 11: Pay Fee

Candidates who are not exempted must pay the applicable ₹100 fee online.

Step 12: Save Printout

After successful submission, take a printout of the application form for your records.

Documents Required

For OTR, where Aadhaar authentication is not used

• Name proof — Aadhaar/Voter ID/PAN/Driving Licence/Government ID/Service ID/Pension document
• Date of Birth proof — Birth Certificate/School Leaving Certificate/authorized DOB certificate
• Address proof — Aadhaar/Voter ID/Driving Licence/Bank Statement with attested photograph/Rent Agreement/Income Tax Assessment Order
• Photograph
• Gender proof — Voter ID/Birth Certificate/School Leaving Certificate.

At Document Verification

Bring originals and copies of applicable documents:

1.      Matriculation/Secondary Certificate

2.      Educational Qualification Certificate

3.      Equivalence Certificate/order, if applicable

4.      Caste/Category Certificate

5.      Valid Motorcycle and Car Driving Licence for male candidates opting for Delhi Police

6.      ESM Undertaking

7.      Serving Defence Personnel Certificate, where applicable

8.      Discharge Certificate, where applicable

9.      Certificate/evidence for special ESM category

10. Age-relaxation certificate

11. Delhi Police Departmental Candidate certificate

12. No Objection Certificate, if employed in Government

13. Documents relating to change of name, where applicable

14. Any other document specified in the Admission Certificate.

Examination-Day Documents

Candidates who have not undergone Aadhaar-Based Authentication must report 2 hours before the scheduled examination.

They must carry:

• Admission Certificate
• At least two recent passport-size colour photographs
• Original valid Photo ID containing full date of birth.

Accepted IDs include:

• Voter ID
• Driving Licence
• PAN Card
• Passport
• University/College/School ID
• Government/PSU Employer ID
• Ex-Serviceman Discharge Book
• Other photo ID issued by Central/State Government.

If the ID does not show date of birth, an additional original DOB document must be carried.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

• Applications are accepted provisionally; eligibility is verified later.
• Name, father's name, mother's name and date of birth must match the Matriculation Certificate.
• Only one application is allowed during the normal application period.
• Multiple applications can result in rejection/cancellation.
• Application should be submitted well before the closing date.
• Wrong information or unsupported claims can result in cancellation.
• Admission Certificates are not sent by post; candidates must download them online.
• Candidates should regularly check the SSC and Regional Office websites.
• Post/Force preference is final and irreversible.
• A candidate who does not submit post preference within the prescribed time will not be considered for a post.
• PST/PET is qualifying/elimination in nature.
• Medical examination is qualifying in nature.
• Final allocation is based on merit-cum-post/force preference.
• All posts except Delhi Police carry All India Service Liability.
• Selected candidates are placed on two years' probation.
• The Commission's decision on eligibility, examination conduct, centre allocation, selection and post allocation is final.
