Educational Qualification  

Food Laboratory

For Micro Biologist (Food Laboratory), either of the following routes is prescribed:

Route 1

The candidate must possess the qualification prescribed for appointment as a Food Analyst under the Food Safety and Standards Rules, 2011, and must have:

• 5 years' experience as a Food Analyst, or
• 5 years' experience in food testing in a recognized laboratory.

Route 2

• M.Sc. (Microbiology)
• 5 years' experience in food testing in a recognized laboratory.

The detailed Food Analyst qualification in Appendix-I includes Bachelor's/Master's/Doctorate qualifications in specified subjects such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Dairy Chemistry, Agriculture Science, Animal Science, Fisheries Science, Biotechnology, Food Safety, Food Technology, Food and Nutrition, Dairy Technology, Oil Technology and Veterinary Sciences, along with the prescribed food-analysis experience.

Drug Laboratory

For Micro Biologist (Drug Laboratory), either of the following routes is prescribed:

Route 1

The candidate must possess the qualification prescribed for appointment as a Government Analyst under the Drugs & Cosmetics Rules, 1945, and must have:

• 5 years' experience as a Government Analyst, or
• 5 years' experience in drug testing in a recognized laboratory.

Route 2

• M.Sc. (Microbiology)
• 5 years' experience in drug testing in a recognized laboratory.

The detailed Appendix-I provisions include qualifications in Medicine, Science, Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry and prescribed experience/training in drug testing. For Schedule C items, additional experience/training requirements are specified.

For examination of veterinary-use antisera, toxoids, vaccines and diagnostic antigens, the Appendix also specifies the relevant graduation/post-graduation and biological-product standardization experience requirements.

Age Limit

Age is calculated as on 01/01/2026.

• Minimum age: 25 years
• Maximum age: 35 years

For Chhattisgarh local residents, an additional 5-year relaxation is provided, making the maximum age 40 years.

Age Relaxation — Category-wise / Special Categories

The PDF specifies the following relaxations:

The notification states that the special-category relaxations continue as applicable, but the combined maximum age under such relaxations cannot exceed 45 years.

Reservation and age-relaxation benefits are available to eligible Chhattisgarh local residents as specified in the notification.

Disability Eligibility

Only Chhattisgarh local/resident candidates with the following specified disabilities are accepted:

• OA — One Arm
• OL — One Leg
• OAL — One Arm and One Leg
• HH — Hard of Hearing
• LV — Low Vision
• SLD — Specific Learning Disability

• AAV — Acid Attack Victims

Candidates with disabilities other than the listed categories are not eligible to apply under the specified disability provision.

Probation Period

Selected candidates will be appointed on 3 years' probation.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

The selection process can be:

1.      Written Examination + Interview, or

2.      Interview only, depending on the number of applications and the Commission's decision.

If the number of applications is high, selection will be through examination and interview. The examination centre specified in the

notification is Raipur, although centres may be increased or reduced depending on the number of applications.

Examination Pattern

The examination contains:

• 150 questions
• 3 hours
• 300 marks
• Part 1 — General Studies: 50 questions / 100 marks
• Part 2 — Microbiology: 100 questions / 200 marks

The paper will be available in Hindi and English.

Negative Marking

Negative marking applies. The notification provides the formula:

MO = M × R − 1/3 × M × W

where R represents correct answers and W represents incorrect answers. Marks are calculated up to four decimal places.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

• Unreserved candidates: 33% in each paper
• Reserved candidates: 23% in each paper
• Interview has no qualifying minimum marks in the normal two-stage process.

Approximately three times the number of advertised vacancies may be called for interview, and only candidates declared qualified in the examination will be eligible for interview.

If direct interview is conducted, the interview will be of 100 marks, with minimum 33 marks, or 23 marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates.

Pay Scale / Salary Details

• Pay Matrix: Level-12
• Pay: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500
• Service: Gazetted, Class-II
• In addition, Dearness Allowance and other allowances will be payable according to orders issued by the State Government from time to time.

How to Apply — Step-by-step

Step 1

Visit the official CGPSC website:

www.psc.cg.gov.in

The application link will be available during the prescribed dates.

Step 2 — Registration

Existing registered candidates can log in using their Login ID and Password.

First-time applicants must complete Candidate's Registration by entering:

• Name
• Father's name
• Mother's name
• Gender
• Date of birth
• Mobile number
• Email ID
• Identity-document ID number, etc.

Step 3 — OTP Verification

Click Generate OTP and enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number and email ID.

Step 4 — Live Photograph

Use the link received on the registered mobile number to capture and upload a live photograph.

The face should be clear, both ears visible and eyes open. A light-coloured single-tone background should be used. The face should cover approximately 80% of the capture screen.

Step 5 — Upload Signature

Sign on white paper using a black ball-point pen, scan the signature and prepare a JPG file up to 100 KB. Only the signature should be scanned, not the blank background.

Step 6 — Apply for Post

After successfully uploading the photograph and signature, click Save and then select the Apply button for the relevant post.

Step 7 — Complete Application

Enter all required information carefully.

Step 8 — Pay Fee

Pay the applicable application/portal fee through the available payment options. The notification allows payment through methods such as:

• Credit card
• Debit card
• Internet banking
• UPI
• Other available methods.

Step 9 — Verify Status

After payment, confirm:

• Application Status: Submitted
• Payment Status: Paid

If these statuses are not shown, the application will not be accepted.

Step 10 — Save/Print

Keep the application acknowledgement and payment receipt safely until completion of the selection process.

Documents Required

At the Time of Online Application

No certificates are required to be attached with the online application. However, the candidate must possess the required qualification, experience and other eligibility certificates by the last date of online application.

Documents Required Before Interview / Document Verification

1.      Age proof

o    High School/Higher Secondary/Matriculation certificate or equivalent.

o    Other documents are not accepted for this purpose.

2.      All semester/year mark sheets related to the required educational qualification.

3.      Educational qualification certificates, including relevant degree/diploma/registration and experience documents as applicable.

4.      Permanent caste certificate, where applicable for Chhattisgarh SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates claiming reservation/age/fee benefits.

5.      Income certificate for Chhattisgarh OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates; it must have been issued within the previous 3 years from the last date of interview.

6.      Age-relaxation certificate, where applicable.

7.      Disability certificate, where disability-based benefit is claimed.

8.      NOC from employer, where applicable for government employees, PSU employees, banks, private institutions, universities, etc.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

Application-related

• Applications are accepted online only.
• Manual or postal applications are not accepted.
• Bank drafts/cheques are not accepted for the examination fee.
• Portal fee + GST is applicable.
• Applicants are responsible for the correctness of information entered in the application.

Eligibility Verification

Admission at every stage is provisional. Receiving an admit card does not mean that final eligibility has been accepted. Eligibility is checked after candidates are identified for written examination/interview.

If a candidate is found ineligible at any stage, including after declaration of results, or if information is found incorrect, the candidature/selection may be cancelled.

Correction

• Free correction: once.
• Paid correction: once.
• Paid correction fee: ₹500.
• After paid correction, no further correction opportunity is provided.
• After the final correction deadline, no amendment is permitted.

Application Data

After paid correction, the corrected data is treated as final and will be verified against original documents before interview/final selection.

Admit Card

The admit card/interview call letter will generally be uploaded approximately 10 days before the examination/interview.

It will not be sent individually; candidates must download it from the CGPSC website.

ID Proof

At the examination/interview, candidates must bring an original identity document such as:

• Voter ID
• Passport
• Driving Licence
• PAN Card
• Aadhaar Card
• e-Aadhaar Card

Without an ID proof, entry may be denied.

Mobile / Communication Devices

Violation of the mobile-phone/communication-device prohibition at the Commission premises or examination centre is listed among serious offences.

Misconduct / Unfair Means

The notification provides for action against candidates involved in:

• Obtaining or attempting to obtain support for candidature
• Impersonation
• Using an impersonator
• Fake/altered documents
• Giving false information or hiding material information
• Unfair/irregular means
• Unfair means during examination/interview
• Threatening or disturbing examination staff
• Violating examination instructions
• Misbehaviour
• Violating mobile/communication restrictions.

Such candidates may face cancellation of candidature, debarment from Commission examinations/selections, denial of government employment and other action as specified in the notification.

Other Disqualifications

The notification also specifies disqualification relating to:

• Certain multiple-marriage circumstances
• Failure to meet prescribed physical/mental health requirements
• Being found unsuitable for the post
• Conviction for offences against women
• Certain pending criminal cases
• Marriage below the prescribed minimum marriage age.
