Indian Air Force invites unmarried Indian male and female candidates to participate in the Open Recruitment Rally for Agniveervayu Intake 01/2027 (Other Than Science Subjects). The recruitment rally is scheduled from 31 August 2026 to 07 September 2026 at Chumoukedima, Nagaland and Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Eligible candidates must satisfy prescribed domicile, educational, age, physical and medical requirements. Selection includes document verification, Physical Fitness Test, Written Test, Adaptability Test-I, Adaptability Test-II and Medical Examination. Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy any one of the following qualifications:

Option 1 – 10+2 / Intermediate

Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects from an Education Board recognised by Central/State/UT Government with:

  • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate, and
  • Minimum 50% marks in English.

OR

Option 2 – Two-Year Vocational Course

Passed a two-year Vocational Course from an Education Board recognised by Central/State/UT with:

  • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate, and
  • Minimum 50% marks in English in the Vocational Course.

If English is not a subject in the Vocational Course, 50% marks in English in Intermediate/Matriculation are required.

OR

Option 3 – Three-Year Engineering Diploma

Passed a three-year Diploma Course in Engineering from a Central/State/UT recognised Polytechnic Institute in any of the following disciplines:

  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Electronics
  • Automobile
  • Computer Science
  • Instrumentation Technology
  • Information Technology

Required marks:

  • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate, and
  • Minimum 50% marks in English in Diploma Course.

If English is not a subject in Diploma, 50% marks in English in Intermediate/Matriculation are required.


Important Qualification Rules

Only Education Boards recognised by Central/State/UT as on the date of the Open Recruitment Rally are acceptable.

The exact aggregate percentage before decimal as written in the marksheet or calculated under the rules of the concerned Board/Polytechnic will be considered.

For example, 49.99% will be treated as 49% and will not be rounded to 50%.


Age Limit

Candidates must have been born between:

01 January 2005 and 01 July 2009

Both dates are inclusive.

Upper Age at Enrolment

If a candidate clears all stages of the selection procedure, the upper age limit on the date of enrolment must be 22 years.


Domicile Requirements

Candidates appearing at Chumoukedima or Sri Vijaya Puram must satisfy the prescribed domicile requirements.

Chumoukedima Rally

Candidates from all districts of:

  • Arunachal Pradesh
  • Assam
  • Manipur
  • Meghalaya
  • Mizoram
  • Nagaland
  • Tripura
  • Sikkim

Sri Vijaya Puram Rally

Candidates from all districts of:

  • UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Permanent Domicile

Candidates must produce a Domicile Certificate issued by a Gazetted Officer in the Revenue Department or another official authorised by the concerned State/UT Government.

Candidate's and parent's names in the domicile certificate must match the matriculation certificate.

COAFP-I

Children of serving Air Force personnel—including Officers, Airmen, NCs(E) and Unit Cadre Civilians paid from Defence Estimates—whose father/mother is serving in an Air Force Unit/organisation located in the applicable districts may participate irrespective of domicile status.

They must produce the latest COAFP Certificate.

COAFP-II

Children of retired/discharged/deceased Air Force personnel residing in eligible districts may also participate.

They must produce proof of minimum one-year stay and applicable service/discharge documents.


Mandatory Medical Standards

Height

Male

Minimum height: 152 cm

Female

Minimum height: 152 cm

Relaxed female height:

  • North East / hilly regions of Uttarakhand ethnicity: 147 cm
  • Lakshadweep ethnicity: 150 cm

Applicable candidates must produce the required domicile endorsement.

Weight

Weight must be proportionate to height and age as applicable for the Indian Air Force.

Chest – Male

  • Minimum chest circumference: 77 cm
  • Minimum expansion: 5 cm

Chest – Female

Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm.

Hearing

Candidate should be able to hear a forced whisper from 6 metres with each ear separately.

Dental

Candidate must have:

  • Healthy gums
  • Good set of teeth
  • Minimum 14 dental points

Fixed or removable orthodontic appliances result in being declared UNFIT.

General Health

Candidates must be physically and mentally fit for duty anywhere in the world and must be free from active/latent acute or chronic medical/surgical disability, communicable diseases, infections and skin ailments.

Body Tattoo Rules

Permanent tattoos are generally not permitted.

Permitted/considered areas include:

  • Inner face of forearms, from inside elbow to wrist
  • Dorsal/back part of hand/reverse side of palm
  • Tribal tattoos according to customs and traditions

Offensive, obscene, indecent, sexist or racist tattoos are prohibited regardless of location.

Candidates with permanent tattoos must submit two postcard-size photographs, showing close-up and distant views with tattoo size/type details.

Adaptability Tests

Adaptability Test-I

Objective-type written test assessing suitability for Indian Air Force employment involving varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.

Adaptability Test-II

Candidates passing AT-I undergo AT-II on the same or subsequent day depending upon local conditions.

It assesses the candidate's ability to adapt to the Air Force environment and military way of life.

Medical Examination

Candidates qualifying AT-II will be medically examined during September 2026 at designated Medical Boarding Centres:

  • Jorhat – for 11 ASC
  • Sri Vijaya Puram – for 8 ASC

Baseline investigations include:

  • Blood Haemogram – Hb, TLC, DLC, Platelets
  • Urine RE/ME
  • Blood Sugar – Fasting/Post Prandial
  • Serum Cholesterol
  • RFT – Serum Urea, Uric Acid, Creatinine
  • LFT – Serum Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT
  • Chest Radiograph – PA View
  • Ultrasonography of lower abdomen & pelvis – female candidates only
  • ECG (R)
  • Any other investigation considered necessary by Recruiting Medical Officer

Appeal Medical Board

Candidates declared medically UNFIT may apply for an Appeal Medical Board (AMB) by depositing ₹40 through the prescribed Government Treasury/RBI/SBI e-MRO/MRO procedure.

Application must be submitted within three working days of medical examination.

No review/representation is available after the Appeal Medical Board.

How to Apply / Participate – Step-by-Step

This notification concerns an Open Recruitment Rally. A separate online application procedure is not specified in the PDF.

Photograph must be front portrait against a light background, without headgear except Sikhs. Candidate must hold a black slate in front of the chest displaying name and photograph date in white chalk capital letters

If originals are deposited with a College/Institution, photocopies may be accepted only when accompanied by a certificate from the Principal confirming that originals are deposited there.

DigiLocker verified certificates are accepted.
