National Institute of Technology Delhi (NIT Delhi) has invited applications from motivated and eligible candidates for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under the DST-funded research project titled “Empowering Communication: Video Captioning of Indian Sign Language.” The project is under the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and is led by Principal Investigator Dr. Anurag Singh. The selected candidate will receive a fellowship of ₹37,000 per month + HRA as per DST norms. The position is initially for one year and may be extended based on satisfactory performance. Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy either of the following eligibility conditions:

Option 1 – Postgraduate Qualification

M.Tech./M.E./M.S. by Research or equivalent postgraduate degree in:

  • Computer Science & Engineering
  • IT
  • ECE
  • Relevant branch

with a minimum of:

  • 6.5 CGPA, OR
  • 60% marks

and the candidate must be GATE/NET qualified.

OR

Option 2 – B.Tech./B.E.

B.Tech./B.E. in:

  • Computer Science & Engineering
  • IT
  • ECE
  • Relevant branch

with:

  • Minimum CGPA of 7.5 on a 10-point scale, and
  • A valid GATE score.

Desirable Qualification & Experience

Work/project development experience in the following areas is desirable:

  • Image Processing
  • Computer Vision
  • Machine Learning
  • Deep Learning

Candidates should also have:

  • Strong background
  • Strong Python programming skills

Age Limit

Maximum Age: Not exceeding 32 years for JRF.

Cut-off Date: The age will be calculated as on the closing date of the application.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

1.      Applications not submitted in the prescribed format or which are partially filled will be summarily rejected. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

2.      The selected candidate must join the assignment immediately after receiving the offer letter.

3.      No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview or for joining after selection.

4.      Selected candidates will be encouraged to apply and register for the Ph.D. programme of NIT Delhi, subject to prevailing norms.

6.      The appointment is a purely project-based temporary position.

13. If the selected candidate wants to discontinue the project, he/she must inform the Principal Investigator one month in advance.

14. If the PI is not satisfied with the candidate's performance, the candidate will be informed one month before termination of the contract.
