Educational Qualification

• Candidates must possess a Graduate Degree from a recognised University or its equivalent.
• The qualification must be obtained on or before 25 November 2026.
• Candidates awaiting final examination results are not eligible.
• The educational qualification must be supported by valid certificates.

PwBD suitability: The Annexure-A table specifies No for all listed categories: VI, HI, LD, OD and MD.

Important age conditions:

1.      SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates applying against unreserved vacancies will not receive community-based age relaxation.

4.      Date of birth must match the Matriculation/10th certificate.

Nationality / Citizenship

Candidates must belong to one of the following categories:

• Citizen of India.
• Subject of Nepal.
• Subject of Bhutan.
• Person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates belonging to Nepal, Bhutan and the specified migrated categories must possess the Government of India Certificate of Eligibility wherever required.

Medical Standards

Medical Standard A-2

Important medical conditions:

• Candidates who have undergone LASIK surgery or any other surgical procedure to correct refractive error are not eligible for Station Master.
• Vision Certificate in the prescribed Annexure-VI or Annexure-VIA format must be submitted at the CBAT examination.
• Without the required certificate, candidates will not be permitted to appear in CBAT.
• Medical fitness is compulsory before appointment.
• If a candidate fails the prescribed medical standard, no alternate appointment will be provided.
• One final medical appeal may be available under prescribed conditions and charges.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective-type examination of 100 questions for 100 marks. Duration: 120 minutes. Negative marking: 1/3 mark for each wrong answer.

2. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Candidates shortlisted from CBT appear for the aptitude test. Minimum T-score of 42 in each test battery is mandatory.

3. Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates must produce original educational, identity, category and other required certificates.

4. Medical Examination: Candidates must qualify the prescribed Railway Medical Standard A-2.

·         CBT Weightage: 70%

·         CBAT Weightage: 30%

·         Final selection is based on combined merit, document verification and medical fitness.

Important posting conditions:

• Railway Zone allocation depends on merit, medical standards, vacancy position and candidate preferences.
• RRB may allot a Railway Zone not selected by the candidate if required in administrative interest.
• Candidates ordinarily remain employed in their initially allotted Railway or establishment.
• Transfer requests to another Railway will not be registered until completion of at least 5 to 10 years of service, as stated in the notification.
• Selected candidates may be liable for active service in the Railway Engineers' Unit of Territorial Army.

2.      Create Account: Register with your mobile number and email ID, or log in using your existing RRB account.

3.      Select Recruitment: Choose CEN No. 08/2026 – Station Master.

4.      Select RRB: Choose only one Railway Recruitment Board (RRB).

5.      Fill Application Form: Enter personal details, educational qualifications, category and other required information.

6.      Choose Preferences: Select Railway Zone preferences carefully.

7.      Upload Photograph: Capture and upload your live photograph as per the notification instructions.

8.      Upload Signature: Upload your signature in the prescribed format (JPG/JPEG, 30–49 KB).

9.      Upload Documents: Upload applicable category and other required certificates.

10. Pay Application Fee: Pay the applicable fee through online payment modes.

11. Preview Application: Check all details carefully before final submission.

12. Submit Form: Submit the application and download/print the confirmation
