A total of 150 vacancies are notified, comprising 117 Senior Personal Assistant and 33 Personal Assistant vacancies. Candidates must be graduates from a recognised university and possess the prescribed English shorthand and computer typing speed. The age limit is 18 to 32 years as on 01.01.2026, with applicable category-wise relaxations. Educational Qualification


Senior Personal Assistant

Candidates must have:

  • Graduation from a recognised University.
  • English Shorthand speed of at least 110 words per minute.
  • English Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute on Computer.
  • Good working knowledge of computers.

Personal Assistant

Candidates must have:

  • Graduation from a recognised University.
  • English Shorthand speed of at least 100 words per minute.
  • English Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute on Computer.
  • Good working knowledge of computers.

The required educational qualification must have been obtained from a University/Institution/Board recognised by the Government of India or approved by the relevant Government Regulatory Bodies. The final result must have been declared on or before the closing date of online applications.

Candidates must possess the essential qualifications by 05.10.2026.


Age Limit

Age must be:

  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 32 years
  • Age calculated as on: 01.01.2026

Candidate should have been born:

  • Not earlier than: 02.01.1994
  • Not later than: 01.01.2008

Date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate/Mark-Sheet or equivalent certificate will be accepted for determining age.

Ex-Servicemen

PwBD candidates with benchmark disability of 40% or above, belonging to categories for which vacancies are reserved, are eligible for the specified age relaxation.

For Ex-Servicemen, relaxation is provided beyond the permissible upper age limit after deduction of military service rendered from actual age as on 01.01.2026. Disabled Defence Services personnel may receive upper-age relaxation up to 45 years, and up to 50 years for SC/ST.

Delhi High Court Regular Employees

There is no upper age limit for persons in regular service in this Court, subject to fulfilling the required educational qualification. This relaxation does not apply to employees of other Government Departments, PSUs, Delhi District Courts, etc.


Reservation

The notice specifies direct-recruitment reservation as follows:

  • SC: 15%
  • ST: 7.5%
  • OBC: 27%
  • EWS: 10%
  • PwBD: 4% on horizontal basis

There is no reservation of vacancies for Ex-Servicemen for Group-A and Group-B posts.

Reserved-category candidates must possess the relevant valid certificate by 05.10.2026.

For OBC reservation, the notice specifically requires an OBC certificate issued by the competent authority of the Government of NCT of Delhi for castes recognised/notified as OBC by the Government of NCT of Delhi. OBC candidates whose caste certificate was issued in the previous financial year(s) must also submit the applicable NCL certificate issued during 01.04.2026 to 31.03.2027.


Selection Process / Recruitment Process

Senior Personal Assistant

The selection consists of:

1.      English Typing Test – Qualifying

2.      English Shorthand Test

3.      Main Descriptive Examination

4.      Interview


Stage I – English Typing Test

  • Duration: 10 minutes
  • Minimum speed: 40 words per minute
  • Computer-based.
  • “Characters with space” will be used for calculating typing speed.
  • Maximum permissible mistakes: 3% of total words typed.
  • Only qualified candidates proceed to Stage II.

Stage II – English Shorthand Test

  • Speed: 110 words per minute
  • Dictation: 550 words
  • Dictation time: 5 minutes
  • Transcription: 45 minutes
  • Total marks: 120
  • No extra time for reading the passage.
  • Permissible mistakes: 5%, i.e. 27.5 mistakes
  • 4 marks deducted for each full mistake.
  • 2 marks deducted for each half mistake.
  • More than 27.5 mistakes = disqualification.
  • Two shorthand dictation/transcription attempts are allowed; the better of the two is considered.

Descriptive Examination Stage III – Main

  • 100 marks
  • 120 minutes
  • English language examination.
  • Essay – 250 words: 40 marks
  • Letter Writing: 15 marks
  • Grammar & Comprehension Passage: 25 marks
  • Hindi to English Translation: 10 marks
  • English to Hindi Translation: 10 marks
  • Passing marks:
    • General: 50 marks / 50%
    • Reserved categories including PwBD: 45 marks / 45%

Stage IV – Interview

  • Maximum marks: 15
  • No minimum qualifying marks.

 Personal Assistant

The same four-stage selection structure applies:

1.      English Typing Test

2.      English Shorthand Test

3.      Main Descriptive Examination

4.      Interview.


Typing Test

  • Minimum speed: 40 words per minute
  • Computer-based.
  • 3% maximum permissible mistakes.

Shorthand Test

  • Speed: 100 words per minute
  • Dictation: 500 words
  • Dictation time: 5 minutes
  • Transcription: 45 minutes
  • Total marks: 110
  • Maximum permissible mistakes: 5% = 25 mistakes
  • More than 25 mistakes = disqualification.
  • Two attempts allowed; best performance considered.

Main Descriptive Examination

  • 100 marks
  • 120 minutes
  • Same components:
    • Essay – 40
    • Letter Writing – 15
    • Grammar & Comprehension – 25
    • Hindi to English Translation – 10
    • English to Hindi Translation – 10

Interview

  • Maximum: 15 marks
  • No minimum qualifying marks.

Final Merit

Final selection/merit list will be prepared by adding marks obtained in:

  • Stage II – English Shorthand Test
  • Stage III – Main Descriptive Examination
  • Stage IV – Interview

Stage I Typing Test is qualifying in nature.

Tie-breaking is applied successively based on:

1.      Marks in Stage II

2.      Marks in Stage III

3.      Marks in Stage IV

4.      Date of Birth — older candidate gets preference.


Correction Window

Candidates can correct/modify their online application during the specified correction window.

  • Correction period: 12.10.2026 to 14.10.2026
  • Name, Category, Date of Birth and Mobile Number cannot be modified.
  • Only candidates whose completed applications and prescribed fee were received within the specified application period can make corrections.
  • Latest modified application will be treated as valid and previous application(s) will be cancelled.

Correction Charges

  • First correction/re-submission: ₹200
  • Second correction/re-submission: ₹500
  • Applicable to all candidates irrespective of gender/category.
  • Payment only through UPI, Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.
  • Correction charges are non-refundable.

How to Apply – Step by Step

Photograph Requirements

  • Colour passport-size photograph.
  • JPEG format.
  • Size: 100 KB to 200 KB.
  • Should not be more than 3 months old from publication of the examination notice.
  • Approximate dimensions: 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm.
  • No cap, mask or spectacles.
  • Face should cover approximately 75% or more of the photograph.
  • Face should be clear, straight and directly facing the camera.
  • Both ear lobes should be visible.
  • Poor/non-compliant photograph may result in cancellation of candidature.

Live Photograph

  • Mandatory.
  • Captured through webcam/mobile device.
  • Must be captured in good lighting.
  • Face must be clearly visible.
  • Live photograph must match the uploaded passport-size photograph. A mismatch will prevent further application processing.

Thumb Impression

  • Left-hand thumb impression.
  • JPEG format.
  • Size: 50 KB to 200 KB.
  • If left-hand thumb is unavailable, right-hand thumb impression may be used.

Signature

  • JPEG format.
  • Size: 50 KB to 150 KB.
  • Illegible/blurred signatures will lead to rejection.
  • Writing the full name in capital letters will not be accepted as a signature.

  • Matriculation/Secondary certificate or equivalent proof of Date of Birth.
  • Graduation/Educational Qualification certificate and supporting documents.
  • SC/ST Caste Certificate, where applicable.
  • OBC-NCL Certificate, where applicable.
  • EWS Income & Asset Certificate, where applicable.
  • PwBD/Disability Certificate, where applicable.
  • Ex-Servicemen-related documents, where applicable.
  • NOC from the concerned Department/Office for candidates already in Government Service.
  • Residential/address proof, where required.
  • Valid Photo ID.
  • Two same passport-size colour photographs uploaded in the application.
  • Other documentary proofs relating to reservation, disability, relaxation, etc., whenever demanded.

Photo ID Accepted at Examination Venue

Candidates must carry the original Photo ID, such as:

  • Aadhaar Card / E-Aadhaar printout
  • Driving Licence
  • Voter ID
  • PAN Card
  • University/College ID
  • Government ID
  • Employer ID Card
  • ESM Discharge Book issued by Ministry of Defence
  • Other photo-bearing ID issued by Central/State Government.

If the Photo ID does not contain Date of Birth, an additional original DOB certificate must be carried.


Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

  • Offline applications will not be accepted.
  • Candidates applying for both posts must submit separate applications and separate prescribed fees for each post.
  • Examination medium will be English only.
  • Name, Date of Birth and Parent's/Spouse's Name should be entered exactly as given in the Matriculation Certificate.
  • Candidates must provide correct and active email ID and mobile number.
  • Candidates must carry the same passport-size photographs uploaded with the application and an original Photo ID at every examination stage.
  • Eligibility is provisionally accepted and will be verified at Document Verification.
  • False or unsupported claims may lead to cancellation of candidature.
  • Candidates must produce original/true documentary proofs whenever demanded.
  • Nepalese citizens must possess the required eligibility certificate issued by the Government of India.
  • Disability certificates must comply with the applicable RPwD Act, 2016 requirements.
  • The Court may cancel part or the entire examination process for administrative reasons, unfair means, cheating or other irregularities.
  • Cheating, copying, impersonation, forged documents, suppression of information, unauthorised electronic gadgets, weapons, obstruction or other listed malpractice can result in rejection and debarment, along with legal action where applicable.
  • Criminal proceedings/FIR details must be disclosed in the application where applicable. Concealment may result in disqualification.
  • Mere issue of an admit card or participation in a test/interview does not create a right to appointment.
  • Candidates should download and preserve the Confirmation Page, application form, admit card, score card and other information/documents.
  • There is no provision for re-evaluation/re-checking of examination scores.
  • Examination dates are tentative and changes will be communicated through the Delhi High Court website.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in Skill Tests, Written Test or Interview.
  • Selected candidates may be required to work at odd hours and on holidays, if required.
  • The Court reserves the right to alter vacancies, modify the examination process and fix minimum cut-off marks.
  • The decision of the Delhi High Court regarding eligibility, applications, examination, selection and appointment shall be final.
