Eligibility Criteria

A. Educational Qualification, Experience & Age Limit

1. Engineering Officer Grade 1 – Electrical

• Qualification: First Class Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university in:
• Electrical Engineering, or
• Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• GATE: Valid GATE Score of 2024/2025/2026
• GATE paper: Electrical Engineering
• Maximum Age: 30 years

2. Engineering Officer Grade 1 – Civil

• Qualification: First Class Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university in Civil Engineering.
• GATE: Valid GATE Score of 2024/2025/2026
• GATE paper: Civil Engineering
• Maximum Age: 30 years

3. Scientific Assistant

• Qualification: First Class B.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized University.
• Experience: 5 years in the relevant subject field.
• Maximum Age: 35 years

4. Engineering Assistant – Electrical

• Qualification: First Class 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology in Electrical.
• Experience: 5 years in relevant field.
• Maximum Age: 35 years

5. Engineering Assistant – Mechanical

• Qualification: First Class 3-year Diploma in Engineering/Technology in Mechanical.
• Experience: 5 years in relevant field.
• Maximum Age: 35 years

6. Technician Grade 1 – Electrical

• Qualification: ITI Trade Certificate in Electrical.
• Maximum Age: 28 years

7. Technician Grade 1 – Mechanical

• Qualification: ITI Trade Certificate in Mechanical.
• Maximum Age: 28 years

8. Technical Attendant Grade 1

• Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board.
• Desirable: ITI Trade Certificate of 2-year duration in Electrical/Mechanical.
• Maximum Age: 30 years

9. Assistant Grade II

• Qualification: First Class BA/B.Sc./B.Com./BBA/BBM/BCA degree from a recognized university.
• Also required: Minimum Grade-B certificate in Basic Computer Course (BCC) conducted by NIELIT on the closing date.
• Only the BCC conducted by NIELIT will be accepted; other computer courses will not be accepted.
• Maximum Age: 30 years

10. Multi-Tasking Staff Grade 1 – Watch & Ward Duties

• Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board.
• All posts are reserved for Ex-servicemen.
• Maximum Age: 25 years.

Age Relaxation

The upper age limit is relaxable as per Government of India norms.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

CPRI may limit candidates called for Document Verification/Skill Test/Trade Test etc. if the number of eligible applications is large.

1. Eligible candidates must apply only through the online CPRI registration system.
2. Keep a valid personal email ID and mobile number.
3. Keep a recent passport-size colour photograph in scanned form.
4. Keep the scanned signature ready.
5. Keep required educational, experience and category documents in PDF format.
6. Complete the online application form carefully.
7. Select the applicable post/category.
8. Upload the required documents.
9. Pay the prescribed application fee, wherever applicable.
10. Submit the application before 12.10.2026 at 5:00 PM.
11. After successful submission, take a printout of the submitted application.
12. Retain the printout for future reference and record.

Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate online application for each post, along with the prescribed fee and documents separately.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

• Only Indian Nationals aged 18 years and above are eligible.
• Essential qualifications are mandatory minimum qualifications.
• CPRI may limit candidates called for further tests if applications are large in number.
• Candidates should regularly check the CPRI website for updates.
• False, fabricated or suppressed information can result in disqualification.
• Canvassing in any form can lead to disqualification.
• Probation for all posts will initially be 2 years.
• Educational qualifications must be from recognized institutions/universities/boards as applicable.
• In case of a tie in CBT/GATE score, the older candidate by Date of Birth will be placed higher in the merit list.
• Multiple applications for the same post will result in rejection of all applications.
• Category once entered cannot be changed.
• OBC candidates must have a valid OBC-NCL certificate and must not belong to the creamy layer.
• EWS candidates must produce the prescribed valid EWS certificate.
• Government/PSU/Autonomous Body employees must produce NOC at Document Verification.
• Incomplete applications will be rejected.
• Uploaded documents must be clear and readable.
• Applications without prescribed fee, where applicable, will be rejected.
• Online applications cannot be withdrawn after registration.
• Application fee once paid will not ordinarily be refunded or carried forward.
• Candidates must retain a printout of the submitted application.
• Candidates must bear their own expenses for attending CBT/Skill/Trade Test/Document Verification.
• Original photo ID and Admit Card are mandatory for attending the CBT.
• The name on the photo ID must exactly match the name entered during registration.
• Examination centres/cities: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Delhi and Kolkata.
• CPRI may allot a centre other than the candidate's preferred centre.
• Requests for change of examination centre will not be entertained
