Officer (Marketing) – Grade A

• 2 years full-time regular qualification.
• MBA (Marketing) / Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration equivalent to MBA as per AIU.
• Specialization in Marketing Management.
• General/EWS/OBC(NCL): Minimum 60%
• SC/ST/PwBD: Minimum 55%.

The specialization must be mentioned in the final degree certificate or substantiated through a certificate from the appropriate authority. Majority of elective papers should conform to Marketing specialization.

Officer (Law) – Grade A

Either:

• Graduate Degree in any discipline and LLB, OR
• 5-year Integrated LLB.

Minimum marks:

The LLB degree must be recognized by the Bar Council of India.

Assistant Quality Control Officer – Grade A0

• Master's Degree in Chemistry.
• General/EWS/OBC(NCL): Minimum 60%
• SC/ST/PwBD: Minimum 55%

Eligible disciplines:

Diploma Engineer – Grade E0

• 3-year Diploma in Engineering.
• General/EWS/OBC(NCL): 65%
• SC/ST/PwBD: 55%

Eligible disciplines include Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, Electrical Power System and Electrical Engineering (Industrial Control).

Mechanical

• 3-year Diploma in Engineering.
• General/EWS/OBC(NCL): 65%
• SC/ST/PwBD: 55%
• Eligible discipline: Mechanical.

Safety

• 3-year Diploma in Engineering.
• General/EWS/OBC(NCL): 65%
• SC/ST: 55%
• AND
• Diploma in Industrial Safety of not less than 1 year from a recognized University/Institute/Department of Technical Education/Board recognized by State Government.

The advertisement lists the eligible engineering diploma disciplines for Safety, including Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Petrochemical Engineering, Petrochemical Technology, Refinery and Petrochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (Oil Technology), Chemical Engineering (Petrochemical), Civil (Construction), Civil and Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering (Construction Technology), Civil Technology, Construction Engineering, Construction Technology, Electrical and various Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Mechanical-related disciplines.

Important: PwBD candidates are not eligible for the Safety post because the advertisement states that deployment in the hazardous industry/job role involving critical safety activities may put such candidates at risk.

C. Common Qualification Conditions

• Final degree/marksheet must be available by 30 September 2026.
• Part-time, correspondence, distance or online qualifications are not eligible.
• Qualifications from disciplines other than those specified are not eligible, subject to IOCL's right to take a final decision.
• Percentage will be calculated according to the concerned Institute/University norms.
• Foreign qualifications must have applicable equivalence from AIU/UGC.
• CGPA/GPI/SGPA/DGPA/OGPA/CPI etc. must be converted according to the concerned Institute/University's formula.
• Fractions will not be rounded up; e.g. 59.99% remains below 60%.
• If the Institute has no CGPA-to-percentage formula, a certificate to that effect is required and IOCL may use a multiplication factor.

Integrated/Dual Degree

Candidates pursuing/completing ME/M.Tech as part of an Integrated/Dual Degree BE/B.Tech programme can apply if the required BE/B.Tech discipline is eligible and both final documents are available by 30 September 2026.

• Dual degree: BE/B.Tech marks/CGPA considered.
• Integrated degree: overall ME/M.Tech programme marks/CGPA considered.
• Mechatronics/Robotics or other combined/interdisciplinary BE/B.Tech disciplines are not eligible.

Diploma Engineer – Higher Qualification Restriction

Candidates possessing professional qualifications such as BE, B.Tech, MBA, CA, CS, CMA, MCA, Ph.D. etc. are not eligible for Diploma Engineer Grade E0.

The list is indicative and IOCL management may consider other qualifications as higher professional qualifications. Suppression of such information may result in cancellation/termination.

Age Limit

Age is calculated as on 01 July 2026.

Work Experience

Post-qualification experience is required only for:

Law Officer – Grade A

• Minimum 2 years cumulative post-qualification professional experience as on 30 June 2026.
• Experience must be after declaration of final Law qualification result.
• Acceptable areas:
• Advocate in courts/tribunals
• Law Firms
• Private/Public Sector organizations handling legal functions
• Central/State Government handling legal functions
• Relevant work areas include litigation, arbitration/conciliation/dispute resolution, drafting/vetting legal or contractual documents, legal opinions, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and regulatory matters.

Assistant Quality Control Officer

• Minimum 2 years cumulative post-qualification experience in:
• Testing/R&D/Quality Control in Petroleum/Petrochemical/Polymer/Fertilizer Unit laboratories, and/or
• NABL-accredited laboratory.
• NABL experience is valid only where the laboratory is accredited in TESTING, discipline CHEMICAL, with scope under Lubricants/Petroleum and Products.
• Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Biological, Radiological, NDT etc. laboratory disciplines are not considered.

Internships, teaching, part-time work and experience obtained as part of acquiring qualification/short-term trainee projects are not considered relevant experience.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

Selection consists of:

1.      Computer Based Test (CBT)

2.      Group Discussion (GD) and Group Task (GT)

3.      Personal Interview (PI)

CBT Pattern

Total Questions: 100

Section A – General Aptitude

• Quantitative Aptitude – 20 questions
• Logical Reasoning – 15 questions
• Verbal Ability of English Language – 15 questions
• Time: 60 minutes
• PwBD eligible candidates with scribe: 80 minutes

Section B – Domain Knowledge

• 50 questions
• Time: 90 minutes
• PwBD eligible candidates with scribe: 120 minutes

Each question carries 1 mark.

Negative marking: 0.25 mark for every incorrect answer.

Section order is fixed: Section A followed by Section B.

CBT Qualifying Marks

Merely qualifying CBT does not guarantee GD/GT/PI shortlisting. Shortlisting is based on CBT marks arranged in descending order for the respective domain.

Final Merit Weightage

Minimum Composite Score

• General/EWS/OBC(NCL): 45%
• SC/ST: 40%
• PwBD: 30%

Pay Scale / Salary Details

19. Keep the generated PDF application safely; it does not have to be sent to the IOCL office.

Reservation Conditions

• Reservation for OBC(NCL), SC, ST, EWS and PwBD is according to Government of India directives.
• SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/PwBD candidates must have valid certificates.
• PwBD reservation is horizontal.
• OBC(NCL) certificate must be issued on or after 01 April 2026.
• OBC creamy-layer candidates must apply as General.
• EWS certificate must relate to financial year 2026–27, based on income/assets for FY 2025–26, and must be issued on or after 01 April 2026.
• PwBD disability must generally be at least 40%.
• PwBD candidates must produce the prescribed PwBD certificate and UDID card.
• Certificates issued in a language other than English/Hindi require a self-certified translated copy in English or Hindi.

Admit Card & Identity Verification

• Admit card is to be downloaded from the IOCL website.
• It is expected to be issued around 10 days before CBT.
• Intimation will also be sent by email/SMS.
• Candidate needs Registration/Roll Number and Password/Date of Birth to download it.
• Recent recognizable photograph should be affixed to the call letter.
• Candidate must carry the call letter and original photo ID plus photocopy.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

• Applications are accepted online only; hardcopy/manual applications are not accepted.
• No changes are permitted after final submission.
• Reserved-category candidates must have valid supporting documents.
• EWS/Caste/PwBD certificates need not be uploaded at initial registration, but their details must be entered correctly.
