Short Notification – 100 Words Airports Authority of India (AAI), Regional Headquarters, Western Region, Mumbai has invited online applications for engagement of Graduate and Diploma Apprentices for 2026-27 under the Apprentices Act, 1961/2014/2025. A total of 36 tentative apprenticeship positions are available across Finance, Electrical, Civil, Electronics/Telecommunication, IT/Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering and HR disciplines. Candidates must satisfy the prescribed educational qualification, age and domicile requirements. The apprenticeship training duration is one year. Graduate Apprentices will receive ₹15,000 per month and Diploma Apprentices ₹12,000 per month. Educational Qualification


1. Graduate Apprentice – Finance

Candidate must possess either:

  • Degree in Commerce (B.Com), OR
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).

2. Graduate Apprentice – Electrical /Civil

Electrical: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering /Technology in Electrical from a recognized institution.

Civil: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering /Technology in Civil from a recognized institution.

Desirable: Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.


3. Graduate Apprentice – Electronic Communication /Tele Communication

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in Electronic Communication/Tele Communication.


4. Graduate Apprentice – Information Technology /Computer Science

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology.


5. Graduate Apprentice – Mechanical Engineering

Any of the following:

  • Degree in Engineering/Technology (Mechanical/Automobile) granted by a Statutory University;
  • Degree in Engineering/Technology (Mechanical/Automobile) granted by an institution empowered by an Act of Parliament; OR
  • Graduate Examination of Professional Bodies recognized by the Central Government as equivalent.

6. Graduate Apprentice – HR

Degree in any stream with knowledge of computer and administrative work.


7. Diploma Apprentice – Electrical /Civil

Electrical: Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Civil: Diploma in Civil Engineering.

Desirable: Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.


8. Diploma Apprentice – Mechanical Engineering

Any of the following:

  • Diploma in Engineering /Technology (Mechanical /Automobile) granted by a Statutory University;
  • Diploma in Engineering /Technology (Mechanical /Automobile) granted by an institution empowered to grant such qualification by an Act of Parliament; OR
  • Diploma Examination of Professional Bodies recognized by the Central Government as equivalent.

Minimum Marks

Qualification must be obtained from a recognized institute with:

  • General/OBC: Minimum 50% marks in aggregate
  • SC/ST: Minimum 45% marks in aggregate

Where the marksheet provides CGPA /CGPI /CPI /SGPA, the applicant must convert the marks into percentage according to the conversion criteria prescribed by the relevant University /Board /AICTE /Institute.


Degree/Diploma Requirement

Degree/Diploma candidates should possess:

  • Full-time regular four-year Degree in Engineering, or
  • Full-time regular three-year Diploma

in the mentioned streams from an institution recognized by AICTE, Government of India.


Passing Year Requirement

Candidates who passed their Degree/Diploma on or after 01 April 2022 are eligible.

Candidates who have completed more than five years from the date of passing the qualifying examination as on the date of joining are not eligible.

Final-year students awaiting results may also apply. Their engagement will be subject to qualifying the essential equivalent qualification and production of the required certificate.


Domicile Requirement

Candidates must be domiciled in:

  • Maharashtra
  • Gujarat
  • Madhya Pradesh
  • UT of Diu

and reside in the nearby area of the respective airport listed under AAI Western Region.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

Selection will be carried out through the following process:

1.      Selection will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

2.      Applicant candidature will initially be provisional.

3.      Shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview /Document Verification.

4.      Information regarding Interview/Document Verification will be communicated through the candidate's registered email ID only.

5.      Certificates/testimonials will be verified.

6.      Candidates must submit a Certificate of Medical Fitness at the time of joining.

7.      Medical Fitness Certificate must be obtained only from a Gazetted Government Medical Officer /Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking.

8.      Candidate must obtain a Police Verification Certificate from their local area of residence.

This is an apprenticeship and candidates will receive a monthly stipend.

  • Government share through DBT from BOAT: ₹5,450/-
  • Total: ₹12,000/- per month

The Government share will be directly credited into the apprentice's registered bank account through BOAT.


How to Apply – Step-by-Step

1.      Graduate/Diploma candidates interested in the apprenticeship programme must first register as a student on the BOAT/NATS 2.0 Portal.

2.      Complete Student/Apprentice enrollment and registration.

3.      After completing registration, find the AAI advertisement displayed on the portal dashboard.

4.      Apply against the relevant AAI advertisement.

5.      Documents submitted by the candidate will be verified by BOAT.

6.      After BOAT verification, follow the required steps to apply to Airports Authority of India, RHQ, Western Region.

7.      AAI Establishment Number is WMHMCC000058.

8.      Select the desired apprenticeship trade/discipline.

9.      Complete and submit the online application.

10. Only applications received online through the NATS Portal will be considered.

The PDF specifically states that candidates must register on the concerned NATS 2.0/BOAT portal before applying. Communication /applications through other modes will not be entertained.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

1.      Apprentices must undergo training at the notified Airport/Establishment. No change in training location will be entertained.

2.      Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship, terminated apprenticeship midway, or are pursuing apprenticeship with another organization or AAI at the same qualification level are not eligible.

3.      Candidates having training or job experience of one year or more after obtaining the essential qualification are not eligible.

4.      Candidates can apply for only one discipline. Candidates applying for more than one discipline will not be considered and their applications will be rejected.

5.      Applications without supporting documents, incomplete applications or applications not meeting the prescribed criteria will be rejected.

6.      Changes in mailing address, category, discipline, qualification or bank details declared during NATS/AAI registration will not be entertained.

7.      The number of apprentices to be engaged is indicative and may change according to requirements without further notification.

8.      Reservation for SC/ST, OBC and PWD will be followed as applicable.

9.      OBC candidates must submit the prescribed Non-Creamy Layer certificate. OBC Creamy Layer candidates are not entitled to OBC reservation benefits and may apply as UR if they meet the UR age criteria.

10. Providing false or incorrect information at any stage can result in cancellation of candidature/engagement.

11. AAI has no obligation to provide regular employment after completion of apprenticeship.

12. Apprentices have no right to claim regular employment in AAI based on apprenticeship training.

13. Apprentices successfully completing one year of apprenticeship training in AAI under the Apprentices Act will be exempted from application fees for future AAI direct recruitment, subject to satisfying other requirements of the respective recruitment advertisement.

14. AAI Management's decision concerning eligibility, acceptance/rejection of applications, selection method or cancellation of the selection process will be final and binding.

15. Filling apprenticeship seats is at the discretion of AAI Management based on candidate suitability.

16. AAI Management is not answerable to candidates for non-selection.

17. Candidates are solely responsible for getting their profile verified through the respective Regional BOAT Portal.

18. During apprenticeship, candidates will be governed by the Apprentices Act, 1961, applicable rules/amendments and AAI policies/rules.
