Educational Qualification

Candidates must fulfill all of the following requirements:

1.      Must possess MBBS from an institution recognized by NMC.

2.      Must have completed the compulsory internship.

3.      Must produce the Internship Completion Certificate.

4.      Must possess registration under any State Medical Council.

5.      Candidates who passed MBBS, including internship, not earlier than 3 years before the start date of Junior Residency, i.e. 24 August 2026, will be considered.

6.      Candidates who have already completed two terms of Junior Residency anywhere will not be considered.

7.      Candidates whose compulsory rotating internship will be completed on or before 24 August 2026 are eligible to apply and appear for the examination/interview.

8.      Such candidates must produce their original Internship Completion Certificate along with one photocopy on the day of the written examination/interview. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

Previous Junior Residency Condition

Candidates who have already completed 2 terms of Junior Residency (Non-Academic) either at AIIMS or elsewhere will not be considered.

Experience in the following will be considered equivalent to Junior Residency (Non-Academic):

• Army Services
• Central Health Services
• Private Nursing Homes
• Private Practice

One JR term = 6 months.

If a person joins and leaves at any point during a term, it will still be counted as one complete term, irrespective of the actual duration worked.

For each term, candidates are required to submit their application separately.

Age Limit

Maximum Age

Not exceeding 33 years.

Age Cut-off Date

Age will be calculated as on the last date for submission of application – 24 August 2026.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation will be regulated according to DoPT instructions.

Important: SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against Unreserved (UR) vacancies will not receive age relaxation.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

Selection consists of:

Written Examination → Qualification in Written Examination → Personal Interview → Final Selection

Detailed Process

1.      Candidates must first complete mandatory online registration.

2.      Application and requisite documents will be verified.

3.      Based on reporting, the Written Examination will be conducted after verification.

4.      Only candidates found eligible after document verification will be permitted to appear for the Written Exam and/or Interview.

5.      Candidates qualifying in the written examination will be called for Personal Interview.

6.      Selection will be based on the performance in Personal Interview of candidates who qualify in the written examination.

7.      Merely being eligible/appearing for interview does not guarantee final selection.

8.      Decision of the Competent Authority/Selection Committee will be final and binding.

All candidates completing their qualifying eligibility criteria by 24 August 2026 will be eligible.

Pay Scale / Salary Details

6th CPC:

₹15,600 – ₹39,100 + Grade Pay ₹5,400

7th CPC:

Level 10 of Pay Matrix + NPA for Medical Graduates

Step 1 – Online Registration

Prior registration is mandatory. No candidate will be permitted to appear in the Written Exam and/or Interview without registration.

Step 2 – Upload Required Documents

Step 3 – Prepare Demand Draft

Prepare the prescribed application fee through Demand Draft in favour of:

“AIIMS KALYANI INTERNAL RESOURCES ACCOUNT”, payable at Kalyani.

PwBD candidates are exempted from application fee.

Step 4 – Complete Application Form

Candidates must fill the application form annexed with the advertisement with the required details.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

Appointment Conditions

1.      Appointment is purely on tenure basis, initially for 6 months only.

2.      It does not give any right to claim regular appointment, permanent absorption or continued contractual appointment.

3.      Tenure automatically expires after completion of 6 months.

4.      The Institute can terminate the tenure engagement at any time.

5.      An employee can leave by giving one month's notice or salary in lieu thereof.

6.      Leave will be governed by AIIMS Kalyani's applicable leave rules.

7.      Executive Director, AIIMS Kalyani can cancel the advertisement without prior notice or fill fewer posts depending upon institutional requirements.

8.      Competent Authority can change the number of vacancies or withdraw the recruitment process fully or partly.

9.      Competent Authority may reject any or all applications without assigning reasons.

10. Appointment is whole-time and private practice is prohibited.

11. Junior Residents must work in shifts.

12. They may be posted on rotation anywhere, including Trauma & Emergency Medicine.

13. Candidates must follow the Institute's discipline and conduct rules.

14. No travelling or other allowance will be paid for joining the post.

15. Candidate must not have been convicted by any Court of Law.

16. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.

17. False declarations, incorrect information or willful suppression of material information may lead to removal from service and other action deemed appropriate.

18. Decision of the Competent Authority/Committee regarding selection is final and binding.

19. Selected candidates must join within 30 days from issue of Offer of Appointment.

20. No extension of joining time will be considered.
