Educational Qualification

Candidate must possess:

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University.
• Preferably Diploma in English Stenography.
• Minimum shorthand speed: 120 WPM
• Minimum computer typing speed: 50 WPM
• Due weightage will be given to Law Graduates.
• Must possess a valid Employment Exchange Registration Number of Assam.

Age Limit

Cut-off Date: Last date of submission of online application.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

Stage-I: Stenography Test (90 Marks)

Includes:

• Voice testing before dictation (2 minutes)
• Dictation in shorthand at 120 WPM (840 words in 7 minutes)
• Computer/keyboard testing (3 minutes)
• Transcription in computer (20 minutes)

Qualifying Marks: Minimum 50% (45 out of 90 marks).

Stage-II: Written Examination (Descriptive)

• Total Marks: 100
• Duration: 2 Hours

Subjects:

• English Language (Composition, Essay & Grammar): 80 Marks
• Assamese Language: 20 Marks

Qualifying Criteria:

• Minimum 40% in English (32/80)
• Minimum 8/20 in Assamese

The written examination is qualifying in nature and its marks will not be considered while preparing the final merit list.

Stage-III: Interview / Viva-Voce

• Total Marks: 30
• Candidates called in ratio of 1:3 from Stenography Test merit list subject to qualifying the written examination.
• Minimum qualifying marks: 60% (12 out of 30).

Final Merit

Prepared on the basis of:

• Stenography Test Marks
• Interview/Viva-Voce Marks

Tie-breaking:

1.      Higher marks in Stenography Test.

2.      If still tied, older candidate gets preference.

Pay Scale / Salary Details

• Pay Band: PB-4
• Pay Scale: ₹30,000 – ₹1,10,000
• Grade Pay: ₹13,300
• Allowances: As admissible under rules.

8.      Save the Registration Code for future reference.

9.      Applications submitted through any other mode will be rejected.

• Reservation certificate must be issued by competent authority.
• Canvassing will lead to disqualification.
• High Court reserves the right to modify or cancel the advertisement.
• Examination materials will be destroyed as per SOP Notification No. 50 dated 26-06-2025.
• Matters not covered in the advertisement will be decided by the High Court.
