PwBD Reservation Details

Out of total 60 posts, 04 posts are reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institute.

Degree Result Condition

Candidates whose result of passing the required degree has not been declared by the last date of receipt of online applications, i.e. 15.06.2026, may also apply.

However:

• Such candidates will be allowed to join NHAI only after submission of degree / provisional degree certificate.
• The degree / provisional degree certificate must be submitted to NHAI not later than 31.08.2026.
• Such candidates may be shortlisted or selected on the basis of GATE 2026 score.
• Offer of appointment will be issued only after receiving provisional / final degree certificate latest by 31.08.2026.
• If the certificate is not submitted by 31.08.2026, the candidature will be cancelled without any further notice or communication.
• No request will be entertained in this regard.

The crucial date for determination of eligibility is the last date of receipt of online applications, including extended date, if any.

For essential educational qualification, the crucial date is 31.08.2026.

• All concessions will be concurrent.
• If a person is eligible for more than one concession, only one concession of the highest permissible limit will be admissible.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

Selection Basis

Selection will be done on the basis of GATE 2026 score in Civil Engineering discipline.

Recruitment Criteria

Direct recruitment will be made on the basis of valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) Score 2026 in Civil Engineering discipline.

Shortlisting / Interview

• The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum qualifications.
• Mere possession of the qualification does not entitle candidates to be considered for appointment or interview.
• If the number of applications is large, NHAI may adopt shortlisting criteria to restrict the number of candidates for interaction / interview, if called.
• The shortlisting method will be decided by the Selection Committee.

Tie-breaking Rule

If candidates have the same rank in the merit list:

1.      The candidate born earlier will be placed higher in the merit list.

2.      If date of birth is also the same, merit will be determined in the order of the first letter in English alphabet of their initial names.

Step-by-step Application Process

1.      Visit the NHAI website: http://www.nhai.gov.in

2.      The website may be accessed using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

3.      Click on About Us → Recruitment → Vacancies → Current.

4.      Click on the advertisement of Deputy Manager (Technical).

5.      Click on Online Application.

6.      Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the application.

7.      Fill up the form and provide the required information.

8.      Upload all required documents in the prescribed format and size.

9.      Click the Next button.

10. Check the Application Preview.

11. Use the Edit option if correction is required.

12. If satisfied with the information, click the Submit button.

13. Submit the online application form by 15.06.2026 up to 06:00 PM.

14. After submission, a Unique Reference Number along with details entered by the applicant will be generated automatically.

15. An Application Acknowledgement will be sent to the email ID provided by the applicant.

16. Keep a copy of the Application Acknowledgement safely for future use.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

Application Mode

• Applications can be submitted online only.
• Applications received through any other method will not be accepted and will be summarily rejected.

Correct Email ID

Candidates must fill their correct and active email address in the online application because all correspondence will be made by NHAI through email only.

Online Application Form

• Candidates must fill the online application form carefully.
• The entire selection process will be carried out on the basis of entries made by the applicant in the application form.
• No request for alteration, modification, or change in entries will be entertained.

Apply Before Last Date

Candidates are advised to submit the online recruitment application well in advance without waiting for the closing date.

Multiple Applications

• If an applicant submits multiple applications, NHAI will consider only the last application.
• Earlier applications will be summarily rejected.

Withdrawal of Candidature

Candidates who apply for the post will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature later.

Reservation Certificate Conditions

• Candidates seeking reservation as SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS must submit certificates in the prescribed proforma meant for appointment to posts under the Government of India.
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate must be issued during Financial Year 2026-2027, on or after 01.04.2026.
• EWS Income & Asset Certificate must be based on income for Financial Year 2025-2026 and issued on or after 01.04.2026.
• No change in community status already indicated in the online application will be allowed.
• Applications not supported by valid certificates will be summarily rejected.
• Candidates who fail to submit valid caste / category certificates will not be considered for reservation. If they fulfill UR eligibility conditions, they may be considered against UR vacancy only.

PwBD Conditions

Only the following categories of PwBD candidates are identified suitable for Deputy Manager (Technical):

1.      Deaf (D) / Hard of Hearing (HH)

2.      One Arm (OA) / One Leg (OL) / Leprosy Cured (LC) / Dwarfism (Dw) / Acid Attack Victims (AAV) / Spinal Deformity (SD) and Spinal Injury (SI) without associated neurological / limb dysfunction

3.      Special Learning Disability (SLD) / Mental Illness (MI)

4.      Multiple Disability (MD) involving more than one Benchmark Disability from the above categories

Disability Certificate

• PwBD candidates should possess latest Disability Certificate issued by Competent Authority.
• Degree of disability must not be less than 40%.
• Certificate will be subject to verification / re-verification by the Authority.

Service Bond

All selected candidates, at the time of joining, must execute a Service Bond of Rs. 5.00 lakhs for serving NHAI for a minimum period of 3 years from the date of joining.

If a candidate resigns before completion of bond period or service is terminated due to misconduct within three years of joining NHAI, the candidate will be liable to pay Rs. 5.00 lakhs to NHAI.

NHAI does not entertain transfer of service bonds for selected candidates already working in any other Government Organization.

Dispute / Jurisdiction

Any dispute regarding any matter referred to in the advertisement will be subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi Courts only.

Change in Vacancies

Mistake in Selection Process

If any inadvertent mistake is detected at any stage, even after issuing appointment letter, NHAI reserves the right to modify, withdraw, or cancel any communication made to the applicant.

False Information

Applicants must not furnish false, tampered, or fabricated particulars or suppress any material information while submitting the application and self-certified copies / testimonials.

Corrigendum / Addendum / Cancellation

Any corrigendum, addendum, or cancellation to the advertisement will be published only on the NHAI website. Applicants are advised to check the NHAI website regularly.

Degree Certificate Upload Condition

Candidates who have completed their degree on or before the last date of receipt of online applications must upload either:

• Degree certificate, or
• Provisional degree certificate

The certificate must clearly indicate passing of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering on or before the last date of receipt of online applications.

Mere uploading of marksheets of all semesters will not be sufficient.

If the required degree / provisional degree certificate is not uploaded, candidature will be cancelled without further communication.

Canvassing

Canvassing or bringing influence in any form will disqualify the candidature.
