 Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess all the following qualifications:

1.      Class 10th pass.

2.      National Trade Certificate (NTC/ITI) in the respective trade.

3.      National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the respective trade.

Minimum Marks Required:

The minimum percentage is required in both NTC/ITI and NAC.

Desirable Qualification:

• Knowledge of regional language for Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka-based units.
• Knowledge of Hindi for other units.

Important Qualification Conditions

• Only full-time regular courses will be considered.
• ITI/NAC certificates and marksheets must have been issued on or before 01 October 2026.
• NAC must be issued by the concerned authority.
• Essential qualifications are mandatory.
• Knowledge, skills and proficiency in the respective discipline will be assessed through Computer Based Examination and Skill Test.
• Ex-servicemen claiming trade equivalency must produce an equivalence certificate.
• Minimum qualifying educational marks are not required for Ex-servicemen claiming trade equivalency through an Army, Air Force or Naval Institute-issued certificate.
• SC/ST/PwBD candidates applying against unreserved posts will be considered under general merit standards without relaxation in minimum educational marks.

Age Limit and Age Relaxation

Age Calculation Date: 01 October 2026

Age Relaxation

Experience-based Age Relaxation:

• Maximum relaxation: 7 years.
• Minimum relevant work experience required: 6 months.
• Experience certificate must be submitted in the prescribed format available on the BHEL Careers website.

Maximum Age Limit: 56 years, including all permissible age relaxations, as on 01 October 2026.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

The selection process consists of two stages. Candidates must clear both stages to be considered for the final merit list.

Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBE)

• Candidates must appear for the Computer Based Examination in their respective trades.
• Examination marks will be used to shortlist candidates for the Skill Test.
• Shortlisting will generally be in the ratio of 1:3 against vacancies in the respective trade, category and unit.
• In case of a single vacancy in a particular trade/category, a maximum of 5 candidates may be shortlisted.

Minimum Qualifying Marks:

Candidates scoring below the minimum qualifying marks will be disqualified.

Relaxation for PwD and Ex-Servicemen:

The advertisement provides relaxation in the cut-off marks for PwD and Ex-Servicemen candidates, subject to the following minimum qualifying marks:

Shortlisting will follow the prescribed 1:3 ratio or a maximum of 5 candidates in the case of a single vacancy.

Stage 2: Skill Test and Document Verification

• Shortlisted candidates will undergo Document Verification.
• Eligibility will be checked according to the recruitment notification.
• Candidates must appear for the Skill Test.
• The Skill Test will be qualifying in nature.
• All shortlisted candidates must attend and complete this stage.

Final Merit List

The final merit order will be prepared based on the Computer Based Examination score after candidates are found eligible in Document Verification and qualified in the Skill Test.

Preference for Best / Runner-up Apprentice

Preference is provided to candidates selected as Best Apprentice or Runner-up Apprentice in All India Skill Competitions conducted by the Directorate General of Employment and Training.

Conditions:

• Candidates must apply online through the prescribed procedure.
• They must upload their Certificate of Merit.
• They must appear for the Computer Based Test.
• They will be called for the Skill Test subject to fulfilling eligibility requirements.

Special Pay Scale Benefit:

• Best Apprentice: Artisan Grade-IV appointment with 2 increments.
• Runner-up Apprentice: Appointment at the minimum of the pay scale of ₹29,500–₹65,000.

Pay Scale / Salary Details

Selected candidates will initially work as Temporary Artisans.

During Temporary Employment

After Successful Completion of Temporary Period

Regularization will be carried out according to the prevailing company rules.

Step 10: Keep a copy of the submitted application and payment details for future reference.

Important: Candidates can apply for vacancies in only ONE Manufacturing Unit and ONE Trade.

10. Ex-Servicemen certificate and applicable documents.

13. Medical certificate and physical limitation certificate for eligible candidates requiring scribe facilities.

14. No Objection Certificate (NOC), if applicable.

15. Proper Channel forwarding documents, if applicable.

16. Ex-Servicemen undertaking, where applicable.

A. Application Instructions

1.      Applications will be accepted online only through https://careers.bhel.in.

2.      Candidates registered with Local Employment Exchanges and fulfilling eligibility conditions must also apply online.

3.      No other application mode will be accepted.

4.      Candidates must apply for only one manufacturing unit and one trade.

5.      Computer Based Examination for all vacancies will be conducted on the same day.

6.      In case of multiple online applications from the same applicant, only the last submitted application will be considered final.

7.      Candidates can select up to five choices of examination centres.

8.      BHEL reserves the right to add or cancel any examination city or centre.
