Educational Qualification

• Graduation/Degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India.
• Equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government is also acceptable.
• Graduation must have been passed:
• Not earlier than 01.01.2023
• Not later than 01.09.2026
• Both dates inclusive.

Minimum Marks for Selection

The candidate must have at least:

• 60% in 12th Standard (HSC/10+2)/Diploma
• 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

59.99% will be treated as below 60%, and 54.99% as below 55%.

Local Language Requirement

Candidates who have studied the specified local language in 10th or 12th standard and produce the relevant marksheet/certificate do not have to appear for the local language test.

Other candidates will have to take a local language test during Document Verification.

Failure to qualify the local language test will result in non-engagement as Apprentice.

Medical Fitness

Selected candidates must be declared medically fit according to Canara Bank's requirements.

Previous Apprenticeship / Work Experience Restrictions

Candidates are not eligible if they:

• Have previously undergone Apprenticeship Training with Canara Bank or another organization.
• Are currently pursuing Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
• Had their apprenticeship terminated due to their own fault.
• Have undergone training or have one or more years of job experience after completion of the educational qualification.

Ex-Servicemen

• Ex-servicemen/Disabled Ex-servicemen shall not be engaged as apprentices.
• There is no reservation for them in this apprenticeship engagement.

Reservation Details

Reservation is applicable for:

• SC
• ST
• OBC
• EWS
• PwBD

as per applicable Government guidelines and State/UT reservation percentages.

OBC

OBC candidates must have a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate in the prescribed Government of India format.

OBC candidates belonging to the creamy layer must apply under the General category.

EWS

For EWS reservation:

• Family gross annual income must be below ₹8 lakh.
• Income includes salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc.
• Certain property/asset ownership can exclude a family from EWS status:
• Agricultural land of 5 acres or more
• Residential flat of 1,000 sq. ft. or more
• Residential plot of 100 sq. yards or more in notified municipalities
• Residential plot of 200 sq. yards or more outside notified municipalities.

An Income and Asset Certificate issued by the competent authority is required.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

The selection process consists of:

Step 1 — NATS Registration

Candidate must first register on:

NATS: https://nats.education.gov.in

A 100% complete profile is required.

An enrollment number is generated after registration.

Step 2 — Online Application on Canara Bank Website

Candidates then apply on the Canara Bank website.

Step 3 — State-wise Merit List

Merit list will be prepared State-wise in descending order based on marks/percentage obtained in:

• 12th Standard HSC/10+2, or
• Diploma.

Tie-Breaking

If candidates have the same percentage, the candidate's age in descending order will determine the ranking.

Step 4 — Document Verification

Documents submitted in the application will be verified.

Any discrepancy can result in disqualification.

Step 5 — Local Language Test

Where applicable, the local language test will be conducted during Document Verification.

Step 6 — Medical Fitness

Final engagement is subject to being declared medically fit.

Pay Scale / Salary / Stipend

Monthly Stipend: ₹16,650/-

This includes the Government of India subsidy, if applicable.

Break-up mentioned in the notification:

• Canara Bank contribution: ₹10,500/- per month
• Government share: ₹6,150/- per month, credited directly to the apprentice's bank account through DBT.
• Stipend is paid monthly after adjustment of loss of pay, if any.
• Apprentices are not eligible for other allowances/benefits.

Employee Benefits

Apprentices:

• Will not be treated as employees of Canara Bank.
• Will not receive benefits available to regular Bank employees.
• PF, ESI and Bonus provisions mentioned under labour law are not applicable to this apprenticeship engagement.

Apprenticeship Period

12 Months

After completion:

• NATS-joint certification will be awarded.
• The candidate will be relieved from the respective training area.
• Canara Bank has no obligation to provide regular employment during or after the apprenticeship.

Obtain the NATS enrollment number and keep it safely.

Step 6

Click “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION.”

Step 7

Enter basic information and generate the provisional registration number and password.

Step 8

Upload:

• Photograph
• Signature
• Left thumb impression
• Handwritten declaration

Step 9

Fill all application fields carefully.

Step 10

Enter the NATS enrollment ID.

Step 11

Select one State and provide district preferences as applicable.

Step 12

Pay the applicable application fee online.

Step 13

Verify all information before clicking FINAL SUBMIT/COMPLETE REGISTRATION.

Step 14

After successful submission, take the printout of the online application.

Step 15

Keep the application printout, registration number and password safely for future reference.

No other mode of application will be accepted.

Handwritten Declaration

The declaration specified in the PDF is:

“I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”

It must:

• Be written in the candidate's own handwriting.
• Be in English only.
• Not be written in CAPITAL LETTERS.
• Not be written by another person.

Documents to Be Produced at the Time of Engagement

Original documents along with self-attested photocopies are required:

1.      Valid system-generated printout of online application.

2.      Proof of Date of Birth:

o    Birth Certificate issued by competent authority, or

o    SSLC/10th Certificate showing Date of Birth.

3.      Photo ID, such as:

o    Passport

o    Aadhaar Card

o    PAN Card

o    Voter ID

o    Driving Licence

o    Other statutory photo ID.

4.      Mark sheets/certificates from SSC onwards up to highest qualification.

5.      Individual semester/year-wise marksheets and certificates.

6.      Final degree.

7.      Board/University document confirming result declaration on or before the cut-off date.

8.      EWS Income and Asset Certificate, where applicable.

9.      SC/ST/OBC caste certificate, where applicable.

10. OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate, where applicable.

11. UDID Card and Disability Certificate for PwBD candidates.

12. Any other relevant eligibility document.

For PwBD candidates, the disability certificate must be issued by the prescribed Medical Board/competent authority according to Government of India requirements.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

Apprenticeship Contract

• Suitable candidates will receive a digital apprenticeship contract through NATS.
• The candidate must accept it within the stipulated timeline.
• No candidate will be engaged until the apprenticeship contract is entered into and approved on NATS.

Working Hours

Apprentices will receive On-the-Job Training during working hours applicable to the Bank's clerical cadre.

Overtime

Apprentices will not normally be required or allowed to work overtime unless approved by the Apprenticeship Adviser under the conditions specified in the notification.

Leave

• One Casual Leave after completion of one month of apprenticeship training.
• Total 12 Casual Leaves per year.
• Maximum 4 casual leaves at one time.
• No other type of leave is applicable.
• Unused leave automatically expires when the contract terminates/completes.

Holidays

Apprentices will receive holidays observed by the Bank where they are undergoing training.

Conduct & Discipline

• Misconduct can lead to termination.
• Apprentices are prohibited from joining/forming any union body.

Termination

The apprenticeship contract ends on expiry of the apprenticeship period.

It may also be terminated if the apprentice:

• Does not report at the training venue/branch on the commencement date.
• Is involved in misbehavior.
• Disobeys instructions.
• Has unsatisfactory performance.
• Commits any act prejudicial to Bank interests.

In such circumstances, the Bank may terminate the contract after 7 days' notice.
