Educational Qualification

A. Store Keeper Grade II
12th pass from a recognized Board or University.

Experience:
One year's experience in handling stores from any recognized firm, Central/State Government organization, or Public Sector Undertaking.

Age Limit:
18–25 years.

Age Relaxation:
Government servants — up to 40 years, according to Central Government instructions/orders.

B. Engine Driver

• Matriculation from a recognized Board or equivalent.
• Certificate of competency as Engine Driver from a recognized Government institute or equivalent.

Desirable Experience:
Two years' service as Sarang on a vessel of over 400 Boat Horse Power.

Age Limit:
18–30 years.

Age Relaxation:
Five years for SC candidates against reserved vacancies. Relaxation for Government servants and SC candidates is according to Central Government instructions/orders.

C. Lascar
Matriculation pass or equivalent from recognized boards.

Experience:
Three years' experience in service on Boat.

Age Limit:
18–30 years.

Age Relaxation:
Government servants — up to 40 years, as per Government instructions issued from time to time.

D. Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade)

• 10th standard pass.
• Valid driving licence for both heavy and light motor vehicles.
• Knowledge of motor mechanism and ability to remove minor defects in vehicles.

Experience:
At least two years' experience in driving motor vehicles.

Age Limit:
18–27 years.

Age Relaxation:
Three years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer). Relaxation for Government servants and OBC candidates is as per Government instructions.

E. MTS (Peon)
Matriculation or equivalent pass.

Experience:
Two years' experience as office attendant.

Age Limit:
18–27 years.

Age Relaxation:
Three years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer). Relaxation for Government servants and OBC candidates is as per Government instructions.

F. MTS (Chowkidar)

Matriculation or equivalent pass.

Experience:
Two years' experience as Chowkidar in any recognized institution or organization.

Age Limit:
18–27 years.

Age Relaxation:
Three years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer). Relaxation for Government servants and OBC candidates is as per Government instructions.

Age Limit

The notification gives the age limits for each post but does not separately state a specific age cut-off date in the eligibility section.

The notification does state that the date of issue of all required documents must be on or before the closing date of application, 03 November 2026, and that overage is considered on the last date of receipt of applications.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

The selection process consists of:

1.      Scrutiny of Applications

o    Applications are scrutinized against eligibility criteria and required documents.

o    Admit cards are issued to shortlisted candidates.

2.      Document Verification

o    Shortlisted candidates undergo document verification before the written examination.

o    Candidates must bring original documents and 02 sets of self-attested photocopies.

3.      Biometric Verification

o    Thumb impression and photograph are captured during initial document verification.

o    Candidate identity is verified through biometric details during recruitment and again at joining/document verification after selection.

4.      Written Examination

o    Pen-and-paper based.

o    Duration: 1 hour.

o    Bilingual question paper.

o    80 objective-type questions.

o    1 mark for each correct answer.

o    No negative marking.

5.      Trade Test

o    Candidates qualifying the written examination are shortlisted for the trade test where applicable.

6.      Merit List

o    Merit list is prepared based strictly on marks obtained in the written examination.

o    It will be published on the Indian Coast Guard website.

Qualifying Marks

• General qualifying marks in written examination: 50%
• SC/ST candidates: 45%
• No relaxation in qualifying marks is admissible to OBC and EWS candidates.

Written Examination Syllabus

1.      General Knowledge

2.      Mathematics

3.      General English

4.      Questions on relevant trade.

How to Apply — Step-by-Step

Step 1

Download/use the prescribed application format given as Annexure-I.

Step 2

Fill the application form in English or Hindi.

Step 3

Affix a self-attested colour photograph to the application.

Step 4

Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents with the applicant's name and date.

Step 5

Do not send original certificates with the application.

Step 6

Enclose a separate blank envelope bearing a ₹50 postal stamp, pasted on the envelope and addressed to yourself.

Step 7

Write the required post/category notation in BOLD letters on the application envelope, as specified in the notification.

Step 8

Send the completed application and documents by ordinary post only to:

Ensure the application reaches the above address by 03 November 2026.

Documents Required

The PDF lists the following:

1.      Valid Photo ID proof.

2.      Matriculation/equivalent marksheet and certificate.

3.      12th/UG/PG/Diploma marksheet and certificate, as applicable to the essential eligibility.

4.      Latest category certificate — SC/ST/OBC/EWS, if applicable.

5.      Experience certificate.

6.      NOC from employer for candidates presently serving in any Government organization.

7.      Two latest passport-size colour photographs.

8.      Separate blank envelope with ₹50 postal stamp, addressed to the applicant.

9.      Application form with duly affixed self-attested colour photograph.

All photocopies must be self-attested with name and date.

Important: The date of issue of all the above documents must be on or before 03 November 2026. Reserved-category candidates must produce category certificates in the prescribed format for appointment to Government of India posts.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

• Candidates must ensure that they satisfy all eligibility and other requirements before applying.
• Furnishing wrong/false information can lead to disqualification.
• Candidature may be rejected at any stage, including after recruitment or joining, if information is found false or inconsistent with eligibility criteria.
• The application envelope must clearly mention in BOLD letters: “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ______” along with the applicable category such as UR/EWS/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/SC/ST.
• Applications without the required envelope notation will be summarily rejected.
• Incomplete applications will be rejected.
• Applications from overage candidates on the last date of receipt will be rejected.
• Overwriting, cutting, corrections or incorrect information according to enclosures can result in rejection.
• Applications without photographs will be rejected.
• Applications without self-attested document photocopies will be rejected.
• Applications without the separate ₹50-stamped blank envelope will be rejected.
• Government employees must forward their applications through proper channel before the due date and submit NOC from the concerned authority.
• SC/ST candidates are entitled to 2nd class rail/bus fare by the shortest route, reimbursed at the written-examination venue on submission of tickets, subject to the conditions in the notification.
• This travel concession is not admissible to SC/ST candidates already serving in Central/State Government service.
• Mere appearance in or qualifying the written examination does not confer a right to appointment.
• Appointment remains subject to fulfilment of all eligibility criteria.
• Selected candidates may be posted anywhere under Coast Guard Region (West), with All India transfer liability.
• Candidates should regularly visit the Indian Coast Guard website for recruitment updates.
