Educational Qualification

Local Bank Officer – JMGS-I

• Graduation/Degree in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
• The candidate must possess a valid Mark Sheet/Degree Certificate showing that he/she is a graduate on the date of online registration.
• Graduation percentage must be entered in the online application.

Local Language Requirement

The candidate must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking the mandatory local language of the State applied for:

• Tamil Nadu – Tamil
• Karnataka – Kannada
• Maharashtra – Marathi
• Gujarat – Gujarati

If the candidate has not studied the specified local language in 10th or 12th standard, he/she must qualify in the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) before the Personal Interview.

Candidates producing a 10th/12th marksheet or certificate showing that the specified local language was studied as a subject will not have to appear for LPT.

Age Limit

Cut-off date

01 August 2026

The age and educational qualification cut-off date is the first day of the month in which online registration begins.

Candidate must have been born:

• Not later than: 01.08.2006
• Not earlier than: 02.08.1996
• Both dates inclusive.

Age Relaxation

For eligible candidates under more than one category, cumulative relaxation may be available with one of the remaining permissible categories. Such cumulative relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC candidates subject to a maximum upper age of 50 years.

Other conditions:

• Maximum age limit of 30 years applies to General and EWS candidates.
• Age-relaxation benefits are subject to Government of India conditions.
• Required certificates must be produced at Personal Interview.
• OBC candidates belonging to the Creamy Layer or whose caste is not in the Central List must apply as General.
• There is no reservation for Ex-servicemen in the Officers' Cadre, although age relaxation applies according to Government guidelines.

PwBD Reservation Details

The advertisement provides horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Categories include:

Orthopedically Challenged – OC

Includes specified locomotor disabilities and categories such as:

• OA – One arm affected
• OL – One leg affected
• OAL – One arm and one leg affected
• BL – Both legs affected but not arms

The advertisement also describes conditions including cerebral palsy, cured leprosy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, acid attack victims, spinal deformity and spinal injury.

Visual Impairment – VI

PwBD candidates may be subjected to UDID/disability-certificate verification and, where necessary, medical examination/re-assessment. Candidates having temporary disability classified as “likely to improve” are not eligible for reservation, as specified in the advertisement.

EWS Eligibility

For EWS reservation:

• Candidate must not be covered under SC/ST/OBC reservation.
• Family gross annual income must be below ₹8 lakh.
• Income includes salary, agriculture, business, profession and other sources.
• Income relates to the financial year preceding the year of application.

A family will be excluded from EWS benefit if it possesses:

• Agricultural land of 5 acres or more
• Residential flat of 1,000 sq. ft. or more
• Residential plot of 100 sq. yards or more in notified municipalities
• Residential plot of 200 sq. yards or more in areas other than notified municipalities.

Property held by a family at different locations is clubbed for determining EWS status. An appropriate Income & Asset Certificate from the competent authority is required.

The definition of family includes the applicant, parents, siblings below 18 years, spouse and children below 18 years. EWS vacancies are tentative and subject to Government directives and litigation outcomes.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

Selection consists of:

Online Examination → Language Proficiency Test (where applicable) → Personal Interview → Final Selection

Online Examination

There are 140 objective questions for 200 marks. Separate timing applies to each section.

Negative Marking

For every wrong answer, 1/4th (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.

There is no penalty for an unanswered question.

Online Examination Qualifying Marks

• Reserved candidates: 30% aggregate
• Unreserved candidates: 35% aggregate
• No sectional qualifying marks.

Cumulative marks of all four subjects will be considered for shortlisting.

Language Proficiency Test

Candidates who have not studied the specified local language in 10th/12th must qualify in LPT.

Failure in LPT means the candidate will not be allowed to appear for Personal Interview and will not be considered further.

Personal Interview

• Interview carries 100 marks.
• Minimum qualifying marks:
• Reserved candidates: 45%
• Unreserved candidates: 50%

Candidates are shortlisted according to Online Examination performance, LPT qualification wherever applicable, and Bank requirements.

Final Selection

• Online Examination : Personal Interview = 80 : 20
• Minimum aggregate:
• Reserved: 30%
• Unreserved: 35%
• Final merit is prepared State-wise and Category-wise.
• Selection is made from the top-ranked candidates in the merit list.

The Bank reserves the right to modify the examination structure and call only the required number of candidates after preliminary screening/shortlisting.

Pay Scale / Salary Details

Assistant Manager – Scale I

Basic Pay:
₹48,480 – 2,000/7 – ₹62,480 – 2,340/2 – ₹67,160 – 2,680/7 – ₹85,920

DA, HRA, CCA etc. will be payable according to rules in force from time to time.

Prior Service Increment

One advance increment is available for each completed year of prior service as an Officer in Scheduled Commercial Banks, subject to a maximum of 2 increments, provided the previous job profile substantially matches the Scale-I Generalist Officer profile of IOB.

Candidates must submit a certified job profile from the previous/current employer. Candidates working with subsidiaries of Scheduled Commercial Banks are eligible for only one increment.

Prior experience will not count toward service seniority.

Probation

• 2 years of active service from the date of joining.
• Confirmation will be according to Officers' Service Regulations.

Bond

Selected candidates must execute a Financial Service Indemnity Bond of ₹2,00,000/- for rendering a minimum of 3 years' service.

Leave / Travel Allowance

As per Bank Service Rules applicable at the time of appointment.

After successful registration, the candidate will receive the Registration Number and Password through email/SMS. Save them carefully.

Enter all required details carefully in the application form.

Step 8

Check that the candidate's name, father's/husband's name and other particulars exactly match the certificates/mark sheets.

Pay the applicable application/intimation charges through online mode.

Step 11

After successful payment, save/print the e-receipt.

Step 12

Take a printout of the system-generated submitted online application form and preserve it for future use.

Documents Required

Candidates called for Personal Interview must produce the following original documents along with self-attested photocopies, as applicable:

• Face should be straight toward camera.

• Caps, hats and dark glasses are not allowed.
• Religious headwear is allowed if it does not cover the face.
• Preferred dimensions: 200 × 230 pixels
• File size: 20 KB–50 KB
• Live photograph must also be captured through webcam/mobile phone as instructed.

Signature

• Sign on white paper using black ink.
• Preferred dimensions: 140 × 60 pixels
• File size: 10 KB–20 KB
• Signature must be clear.
• Signature must not be in capital letters.

Left Thumb Impression

• White paper.
• Black or blue ink.
• JPG/JPEG.
• Preferred: 240 × 240 pixels at 200 DPI, equivalent to 3 cm × 3 cm.
• File size: 20 KB–50 KB.
• Alternative finger/toe impression procedures are specified if the candidate does not have a left thumb/fingers.

Handwritten Declaration

• Must be written by the candidate in English only.
• White paper with black ink.
• JPG/JPEG.
• Preferred: 800 × 400 pixels at 200 DPI, equivalent to 10 cm × 5 cm.
• File size: 50 KB–100 KB.
• Must not be written in CAPITAL LETTERS.
• If written by another person or in another language, application will be invalid.
• The advertisement provides the following declaration:

“I, __________ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”

The signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration must belong to the applicant. A mismatch between the uploaded signature and the signature on the attendance sheet/call letter can result in disqualification.

Scribe & Compensatory Time

PwBD/eligible candidates may use their own scribe at their own cost, subject to the conditions in the advertisement.

Important conditions include:

• Candidate must arrange the scribe.
• Scribe must not be a candidate for this recruitment's online examination.
• Scribe qualification should be one step below the candidate's qualification.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

3.      No change of State/category will be permitted after registration.
