Educational Qualification

Petroleum Engineering

• Graduate Degree in Petroleum Engineering with minimum 60% marks
• OR Graduate Degree in Applied Petroleum Engineering with minimum 60% marks

Mechanical Engineering

• Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 60% marks

Chemical Engineering

• Graduate Degree in Chemical Engineering with minimum 60% marks

Instrumentation Engineering

• Graduate Degree in Instrumentation Engineering with minimum 60% marks

Geology

Any one of the following with minimum 60% marks:

• Post Graduate Degree in Geology
• M.Sc./M.Tech. in Petroleum Geoscience
• M.Sc./M.Tech. in Petroleum Geology
• M.Tech. in Geological Technology

Additional Qualification Conditions:

• Degree must be recognized by AIU/UGC/AICTE or other relevant statutory body.
• Distance/Part-time qualifications are acceptable if recognized.
• Equivalent qualifications (e.g., AMIE where Engineering Degree is prescribed) are not accepted.
• Candidates must possess the qualification on or before the last date of application.
• BE/B.Tech. in Chemical Sciences & Technology is not acceptable for Chemical Engineering.

Age Relaxation

• OBC (NCL): As prescribed above.
• SC/ST: As prescribed above.
• PwBD: Additional relaxation as specified.
• Ex-Servicemen: Relaxation as specified.
• Departmental Candidates: Relaxation according to category plus service rendered in ONGC.
• Departmental Ex-servicemen will receive whichever relaxation is higher.

Selection Process

The recruitment process consists of:

1.      Computer Based Test (CBT)

2.      Personal Interview

3.      Medical Examination

CBT Pattern

• Duration: 2 Hours
• Multiple Choice Questions
• No Negative Marking
• PwBD candidates eligible for compensatory time and scribe as per rules.

Shortlisting

• CBT to Interview ratio: 1:5

Weightage

• CBT: 85 Marks
• Interview: 15 Marks

Qualifying Marks

CBT

• General/EWS/OBC: 45%
• SC/ST/PwBD: 40%

Interview

• General/EWS/OBC: 9 out of 15 (60%)
• SC/ST/PwBD: 6 out of 15 (40%)

Final merit is based on CBT + Interview followed by Medical Examination.

• Convenience Fee/Bank Charges + GST extra.
• Fee is non-refundable.

Pay Scale / Salary Details

• Pay Scale: ₹60,000 – ₹1,80,000 (E1 Level)
• Approximate CTC: ₹26 Lakhs
