Indian Navy has invited online applications from unmarried male candidates for enrolment as Sailors in the Medical Branch for Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR Medical) – 02/2027 Batch. The recruitment will be conducted by the Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment, Naval Headquarters, New Delhi. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with minimum required marks from recognized boards. Selection will be conducted through Stage-I Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), Physical Fitness Test, Written Examination and Medical Examination. Online applications will be accepted from 14 March 2026 to 06 April 2026 through the official Indian Navy recruitment website. Training will commence at INS Chilka in May 2027.Candidates should carefully review the official notification before applying.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have:

  • Passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB)
  • From boards recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India
  • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate
  • Minimum 40% marks in each subject

Candidates appearing in Class 12 board exams of academic year 2025–26 are also eligible, provided they produce the original mark sheet during later stages of recruitment.

 

Age Limit

Candidates must be born between:

01 May 2005 – 31 October 2009 (Both dates inclusive).


Selection Process / Recruitment Process

Selection will be conducted in the following stages:

Stage-I: Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET)

  • Computer-based examination
  • 100 questions
  • 1 mark for each question
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Sections:
    • English
    • Science
    • Biology
    • General Awareness
  • Negative marking: 0.25 marks deducted for wrong answer

Shortlisting for Stage-II will be based on marks obtained in INET.


Stage-II Selection Process

Candidates shortlisted from Stage-I will undergo:

1.      Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

2.      Written Examination

3.      Recruitment Medical Examination

Final merit list will be prepared based on performance in Stage-II written exam and qualification in PFT and medical examination.


Pay Scale / Salary Details

During Training

Stipend: ₹14,600 per month

After Training

Pay Level: Level-3 of Defence Pay Matrix

Salary Range:
₹21,700 – ₹69,100

Additional Benefits:

  • Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹5,200 per month
  • Dearness Allowance (DA) as applicable.
