Educational Qualification

Candidate must:

1. Possess BDS or equivalent degree from a medical college or institution recognized by the Dental Council of India (DCI).
2. Possess a valid Registration Certificate under the Dentists Act, 1948.
3. Possess required conversion certificates recognized by DCI in case of foreign universities.

Age Limit (with Cut-off Date)

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 40 years

Age calculation date: 01 January 2026

Candidate must have been born not earlier than 2 January 1984 and not later than 1 January 2005.

Age Relaxation (Category-wise)

Upper age limit relaxation:

• SEBC / SC / ST / Women / Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
• Persons with Disabilities (≥40% disability): 10 years
• SC/ST candidates with disability: cumulative relaxation permitted up to 15 years.

Selection Process / Recruitment Process

Selection will be made through Written Examination.

Written Test Details

• Total Marks: 200
• Total Questions: 200 (MCQ)
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer
• Duration: 3 hours
• Syllabus: As per Dental Council of India (DCI) BDS syllabus

The commission will prepare a merit list based on written examination marks.

Additional allowances will be provided as sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

Important Instructions / Terms & Conditions

• Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
• Candidate must be of good character and sound health.
• Candidate must be able to read, write and speak Odia or pass the Odia language test.
• Government employees must submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) during document verification.
• Candidates giving false information or forged documents will be disqualified.
• Candidates selected after PG course must serve 3 years in KBK / KBK+ / Tribal areas as required.
• Applications submitted with incomplete information will be rejected.
• Forged documents will lead to debarment for 3 years from OPSC examinations.
