Educational Qualification

Candidate must have:

1.      B.V.Sc. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science) degree, or

2.      B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry) degree

from a university recognized by the Veterinary Council of India.

The candidate must also be registered with the Bihar Veterinary Council.

Age Limit

Minimum Age

• 21 years
• Age is calculated as on 01.08.2026.

Maximum Age

The date of birth recorded in the candidate's Matriculation or equivalent certificate will be accepted by the Commission.

Age Relaxation

The notification provides the following relaxations:

Persons with Disabilities

• 10 years relaxation in the maximum age limit.

Government Employees

For government employees appointed on a regular basis who have completed 3 years of continuous service, up to 5 years relaxation is permitted for obtaining the higher pay scale.

Contract Veterinary Doctors

For veterinary doctors working on a contractual basis under the Government of Bihar / private institutions / various projects of the Department of Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources, Bihar, age relaxation of up to 8 years may be granted for the equivalent period of service, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.

The cut-off date for calculating this relaxation is 01.08.2026.

Previous Appointment / Previous Recruitment

The notification also contains a provision concerning candidates who had previously applied/been considered for the post, with age calculated from 01.08.2021 under the cited government provisions.

Ex-Servicemen

• 3 years relaxation in the upper age limit plus the period of service rendered in the Defence Services.
• The actual age on the date of application must not exceed 57 years.
• Relevant certificate must be submitted.

Only one applicable relaxation from the provisions specified in the notification is admissible to a candidate.

Reservation Rules

• Reservation benefit is available only to candidates whose permanent residence/domicile is Bihar.
• Candidates from outside Bihar will not receive Bihar reservation benefits.
• Reservation must be claimed in the appropriate column of the online application.
• SC/ST candidates must submit:
• Caste Certificate
• Permanent Residence/Domicile Certificate
• BC/EBC candidates must submit a valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate and domicile/residence certificate.
• EWS candidates must submit Income & Asset Certificate and domicile/residence certificate.
• Income & Asset certificates are considered valid for one year from their date of issue.
• Reservation category cannot be changed after the reservation certificate has been updated/registered.
• Failure to produce the correct certificate will result in the reservation claim not being accepted.

The notification also specifies 35% horizontal reservation for Bihar domicile women.

Selection will be made on the basis of:

4.      Document Verification

The Commission will prepare the merit list based on the written examination and work experience.

Merit Calculation

Work Experience

• Maximum 5 marks for each completed year of work experience
• Maximum work-experience marks: 25
• For a fraction of a year, the notification specifies calculation based on the number of working days divided by 365 after multiplying the relevant annual marks.
• Work experience is calculated up to 24.09.2026.
• The experience must be supported by the prescribed salary payment certificate format issued by the competent authority.

Normalization

If the examination is conducted in more than one shift, the result will be prepared using the prescribed Normalization process.

Syllabus

Questions will be based on the B.V.Sc. & A.H.-level syllabus prescribed by the concerned department. The syllabus will be published separately on the Commission's website.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

For the written examination:

Candidates who do not obtain the prescribed minimum qualifying marks will not have their claim considered.

For candidates who have passed from veterinary colleges located within Bihar, 50% horizontal reservation for women is also stated to apply as specified in the notification.

How to Apply — Step-by-Step

According to the notification:

1.      Visit the official BTSC website:
www.btsc.bihar.gov.in

2.      Find the online application for Advertisement No. 27/2026.

3.      Complete the online application form.

4.      Enter educational qualification, reservation and work-experience information in the prescribed fields.

5.      Upload the required certificates/marksheets in the specified columns.

6.      Enter the certificate/marksheet number and issue date wherever required.

7.      Enter the required photo ID details.

8.      Pay the ₹100 application fee online.

9.      Verify all information before final submission.

10. Submit the online application.

11. Download/save the application and payment receipt.

12. Keep the hard copy of the submitted online application safely.

13. The uploaded certificates/marksheets must remain available for document verification.

The notification specifically warns that merely completing registration and paying the fee does not mean that the complete online application has been submitted.

Documents Required

The notification lists the following documents/certificates:

1.      Original Matriculation Certificate

2.      All years' marksheets and original/provisional certificate of:

o    B.V.Sc., or

o    B.V.Sc. & A.H.

Photo ID Requirements

The candidate must preferably enter the Aadhaar Card number as photo identification.

If Aadhaar is unavailable, another photo ID such as:

• PAN Card
• Driving Licence
• Other permitted photo identification

may be used.

The same photo ID entered in the online application must be produced at the examination/counselling stage.

Photograph Requirements

The notification specifies:

• Photograph should be recent, within 3 months.
• Applicant's face and head should be clearly visible.
• Eyes should be open.
• Photograph should not have inappropriate shadows.
• If the applicant normally wears spectacles, the photograph should be taken with the spectacles removed.
• The applicant should keep at least five additional copies of the same photograph uploaded in the application for future use.

Application

• Only online applications are accepted.
• Printed, typed or handwritten applications will not be accepted.
• Incomplete, unclear, unsigned or late applications will be rejected.
• Application fee once deposited will not be refunded.
• The candidate is responsible for ensuring that all information entered is correct.

Application Correction

The notification states that after submission, changes/corrections in the online application will not be entertained. Applications containing errors may be rejected.

Email & Mobile Number

The candidate must keep the email ID and mobile number entered in the application secure until completion of the selection process.

The candidate should enter their own working mobile number and email ID and should not enter another person's contact details.

Internet/Banking Problems

The Commission will not be responsible for internet or banking-related problems. Candidates should complete the application process before the last date rather than waiting until the deadline.

Document Verification

• Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for document verification according to the merit list.
• Only documents uploaded in the online application will be considered during verification.
• Original documents must be produced at document verification.
• Documents that were not mentioned/uploaded in the online form will not be accepted for verification.
• Uploaded documents must be clear and properly scanned.

False Documents

Candidates are specifically warned not to submit fake or forged certificates.

If a forged certificate is detected at any stage, the candidature may be cancelled and action may be taken according to the applicable rules.

Examination Information

Examination-related information will be published on the Commission's website. Candidates are advised to regularly check the website.

The Commission is not bound to inform candidates separately through SMS or email.
