Educational Qualification

Executive Trainee (Electrical)

• B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 60% marks.
• Courses must be approved by UGC and AICTE, wherever applicable, and the degree must be recognized by the relevant authorities.
• Open and Distance Learning (ODL) degrees are not permissible.

Executive Trainee (Mechanical)

• B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, as specified for the respective division.
• Minimum 60% marks.
• Courses must meet the stated UGC/AICTE approval and recognition requirements.
• ODL degrees are not permissible.

Mandatory UPSC ESE 2024 Eligibility

Candidates must:

1.      Have cleared the written stage of UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2024 in the relevant Electrical or Mechanical discipline.

2.      Have appeared for the UPSC ESE 2024 interview.

3.      Not have been recommended for final selection by UPSC.

4.      Have consented to disclosure of their marks information on the UPSC website.

5.      Meet MECL's educational, age, category and other eligibility requirements.

Age Limit

• Maximum age for UR candidates: 28 years.
• Crucial date for determining age: 01 August 2026.
• Minimum age: Not Mentioned in PDF.
• Minimum post-qualification experience: NIL (no experience required).

Age Relaxation

• OBC-NCL candidates must provide the prescribed valid certificate and non-creamy-layer declaration.
• EWS reservation is subject to a valid Income and Asset Certificate.
• PwD candidates must provide the prescribed disability certificate.
• Internal candidates must have served in the immediately lower scale for at least one year on the applicable cut-off date. No relaxation in educational qualification is permitted.
• All applicable category certificates must be valid as of 01 August 2026.

Selection Process

1.      UPSC ESE 2024 Score: Selection will be based on marks obtained in the UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2024 (out of 1200).

2.      Merit List: Candidates will be ranked in descending order of marks, discipline-wise and category-wise.

3.      Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted according to their UPSC ESE 2024 scores and MECL eligibility criteria.

4.      Document Verification: Original documents of shortlisted candidates will be verified.

5.      Medical Examination: Candidates must be declared medically fit by a Government Medical Officer/CMO of a Government Hospital.

6.      Final Appointment: Employment offers will be issued to candidates whose documents are found valid and suitable.

Security deposit and service bond:

• A deduction of ₹5,000 per month will be made from salary as a retention amount, subject to applicable deductions such as PF.
• The employee must serve the company for a minimum of 36 months from joining.
• The retention amount will be refunded without interest after completion of the minimum 36-month service period.
• Failure to complete the minimum service period results in forfeiture of the retained amount.
• A service bond of ₹1.8 lakh must be executed.
• If the employee leaves before completing 36 months, the balance bond amount must be deposited after adjusting the security deposit already deducted.
• If the employee dies during the bond period, the deducted security deposit will be refunded without interest to the nominee.

1.      Visit the official MECL website: www.mecl.co.in.

2.      Open the Careers section and locate Advertisement No. 02/Rectt./2026.

3.      Open the online recruitment portal using the link provided in the advertisement.

4.      Keep a valid email ID and mobile number ready. Both should remain active for at least one year.

5.      Register on the online recruitment portal by entering all mandatory information.

6.      Log in after successful registration.

7.      Select Apply for a Post and choose the appropriate Executive Trainee vacancy.

8.      Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, UPSC ESE 2024 scorecard details and category information accurately.

9.      Upload the required scanned, self-attested documents in the prescribed formats and file sizes.

10. Pay the ₹500 application fee, if applicable, through the permitted online payment method.

11. Review the application carefully before submitting it.

12. Submit the application online and save or print the system-generated application form and payment details, if applicable.

Application deadline: 23 October 2026, as per the corrigendum.

Applications through any mode other than the MECL online recruitment portal will be rejected. Candidates are not required to send a printed copy of the application to MECL.

1.      Recent passport-size colour photograph (JPG/JPEG, max. 50 KB).

2.      Scanned signature (JPG/JPEG, max. 20 KB).

3.      Valid SC/ST/OBC-NCL caste certificate, if applicable.

4.      Valid PwBD certificate, if applicable.

5.      Ex-Servicemen certificate/service documents, if applicable.

6.      UPSC ESE 2024 scorecard (PDF, max. 300 KB).

7.      Aadhaar Card (mandatory) and other ID proof, if applicable.

8.      Application fee payment proof, if applicable.

9.      Engineering degree certificate and mark sheets for verification.

10. NOC for candidates employed in Government/PSU/autonomous bodies, where applicable.

Important Instructions

3.      Minimum qualification marks: 60%.

4.      Candidates must have cleared the UPSC ESE 2024 written examination, appeared for the interview, and not been recommended for final selection.
