  • Maximum 80 seats in Class VI in each Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, subject to availability of suitable candidates.
  • NVS reserves the right to reduce seats to 40 or withhold admission/results if adequate accommodation is unavailable.
  • Category-wise seats: Not individually specified in seat numbers. Reservation policy is provided separately.

Educational Qualification

Candidate must:

  • Be studying in Class V during academic session 2026–27.
  • Study in a Government/Government-aided/Government-recognized school or NIOS ('B' Certificate) as applicable.
  • Successfully complete Class V in 2026–27.
  • Have studied Classes III, IV & V by spending one full academic session.
  • Candidates who skipped Class III/IV or passed Class V earlier are not eligible.

Age Limit (Cut-off)

  • Born between 01 May 2015 and 31 July 2017 (both dates inclusive).

Age Relaxation

  • Not Mentioned.
  • Same age criteria applicable to all categories.

Admission / Selection Process

Entrance Examination

Admission through Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2027.

Exam Pattern:

  • Duration: 2 Hours
  • Time: 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Objective Type Questions
  • Total Questions: 80
  • Total Marks: 100

Sections:

  • Mental Ability + EVS
  • Arithmetic
  • Language

Additional 40 minutes for Divyang candidates. No negative marking.

Merit List

  • Based on JNVST performance.
  • Minimum qualifying marks required in each section.
  • Tie-breaking rules specified in the prospectus.
  • Result expected by end of March 2027.

5.      Upload required JPG files (10–100 KB).

6.      Submit application online.

8.      Correction window will be provided for selected fields after application closing.

Reservation Policy

  • Minimum 75% seats from Rural Areas.
  • SC reservation according to district population (minimum national average 15%).
  • ST reservation according to district population (minimum national average 7.5%).
  • Combined SC/ST reservation maximum 50%.
  • OBC reservation: 27% (Central List only).
  • Minimum one-third seats for Girls.
  • Reservation for Divyang candidates as per Government norms.
  • No separate reservation for Transgender candidates.
